marching in the streets of hollywood today i saw this photo of george floyd being carried high above the rest of the people and signs. it felt like he was looking right at me… right through me really. fixing his gaze on all the places within me where i have fallen short. stayed silent. taken care of myself first. thoughtlessly perpetuated generations of ingrained white privilege to the detriment of my brothers and sisters of color. and it immediately restrengthened my resolve to support this movement in any and every meaningful way i can. not only today among the throngs. but in the weeks and months and years ahead. to learn and grow and do the work and show up in solidarity… lasting solidarity. i felt his presence among us today. his spirit moving all of us down hollywood boulevard. and i felt sure in this moment that we will not let his death be in vain. #blacklivesmatter #defundthepolice #sayhisname #justiceforgeorgefloyd
passing back through nyc i got to open my newest acquisition from icelandic artist loji höskuldsson – @loji.its.official – whose embroidered work is both nostalgic and whimsical… and enormously impressive! it makes me feel so grateful for the magical time i spent in iceland before the world turned upside down. i am grateful to him for creating this work for me and honored to include it in my collection!

i am truly despondent over the vile and hateful actions of this repugnant administration against our trans brothers and sisters at this especially vulnerable time. this move reflects a malicious and targeted disregard for some of the most persecuted members of my community and it fills me with rageful indignation. and in the middle of pride month on top of it all. on the anniversary of the pulse nightclub shooting… trump is truly as despicable as he is reckless. a loathsome excuse for a man. a coward. a bully. a stain on our nation. I STAND WITH THE TRANS COMMUNITY IN RESPECT AND ADMIRATION AND AS EVER… SOLIDARITY!!!
