Amanda Fuller Instagram – A week ago I had the honor of attending @endofound ‘s 12th Annual Blossom Ball. It took me a week to post bc, well…LIFE (I truly don’t understand how ya’ll do it) But please don’t let that take away from the profound importance of this cause; how deeply connected it is to my heart &, quite literally, my body. Not to mention countless others.
As most of you who follow me know by now, I am #morethan1in10 of the people born with a uterus who are plagued with #Endometriosis . I was fortunate enough to have surgery a couple years ago with the incomparable @seckinmd & #DrChu who cut out 27 lesions of endo, along with my appendix that was riddled with it. That surgery changed my life in so many ways & I am eternally grateful. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the disease and because there is still NO CURE- endometriosis continues to plague my life. My journey continues.
To be in that room last week, filled with #endowarriors & their support systems, was magical. To witness the progress @endofound’s fundraising has made possible was incredibly encouraging. I was in a room of giants. And it gave me hope. We have a long road ahead of us, but this community is more ready & armed than ever before- & to be able to celebrate that felt like a much needed gift!
The night honored @bindisueirwin, whose story feels so close to home for me- and whose bravery and tenacity in sharing her story is beyond admirable. Bindi, your spirit is infectious, your passion is fire, and your eloquence is remarkable. Thank you.
To Bindi’s brother @robertirwinphotography, just wow. We need more men like you. You are wise beyond your years, and your dedication to supporting your sister and this cause left my jaw on the floor. Thank you.
And to @lilybrooksobriant – what a pleasure to connect with you and witness your talents first hand. You are already a huge part of this community & represent the future of endo warriors alike, & that gives me great hope.
