Don’t blindly follow a political party or individual. It’s a tool used to divide people and to prevent YOU from asking questions about the people you voted for. 👏 You can support some policy and not other policy within the party you ultimately like – that’s normal. 👏 Pushing back with questions is necessary if we are to keep people and parties accountable (yes even the ones you support). 🚨 If someone questions or doesn’t agree with a policy or behaviours of people or parties you support, this is NOT a personal attack on you! Things to keep in mind when dealing with a difficult boss: 🔥 Don’t get emotional or fight fire with fire – this just adds fuel to the problem and you risk damaging your reputation, even if you’re “in the right”. Do your best to remove the emotion from the situation. ⬆ Manage up – be the professional in the room and step up, offer to take on some extra responsibilities or provide some alternate ideas. 🤷♀️ Don’t be discouraged if your boss takes the credit – no matter the outcome at your current place of work, you can use your achievements as case studies for your next job application. ☀ Focus on the positive – what does your boss do well? Yes they may be difficult in some ways, but if you fixate on the negative you are guaranteed to be miserable. 💪 Learn to work WITH people rather than against them – this is a powerful leadership quality, and learning to work with a variety of personalities (especially difficult ones) will set you up for success. 💜Attention small business women. This is your reminder to: 1. Stop saying yes to absolutely everything because you’re worried that you will miss out. It was simply divide your attention and you will not be focused on your goals. Master of the ability to tell people when you’re at capacity, or say “not right now” or simply say no. 2. Stop overthinking. Stop worrying about what people think of you stop worrying about how people respond to your social media stop worrying about the proposal you’re procrastinating putting together. Just do it. 3. Finally don’t give up. It is a lot harder than social media makes out it is. Yes you need to make sacrifices but when things aren’t going your way, don’t assume it means you’re not good or others are better. It just means it’s going to take longer. Small businesses have been let down by both sides of politics. 👉The current government has repeatedly introduced legislation detrimental to small business. Combined with their economic mismanagement, many small businesses have been forced to close down (or on their way). 👉 This government only seems to incentivise businesses willing to adhere to their agenda when it comes to tenders 👉 The coalition isn’t providing much solution to the problem other than nuclear helping with energy cost (in the future) 🚨The reality is, small businesses have been neglected for too long by the government and also by associations who’ve turned their back on the people they represent. In @financialreview and @canberratimes I warned that unions pushing for working from home laws are endangering small businesses, especially female employees. Stripping the flexibility from small business means many will simply have to deny employees’ requests for the informal, changeable arrangements that many (particularly women) rely on. I joined Steve Price on Sky News to discuss the recklessness of government increasing immigration when those already in the country or having previously immigrated are struggling to make ends meet.
