Soon, this boy whose classmates were Salman & Shahrukh fans- he was was a very proud fan of Dev . Frankly, I used to think ‘I am Dev’. Deep inside my heart, I always had this conviction that I will meet Dev saab one day. Touching 22 yrs of age, I joined a radio station in dubai. I was told that a fellow RJ was to interview Dev Anand on the telephone. I requested him to gimme the phone towards the end of the interview. I was quietly listening to the whole interview on a parallel line, waiting with bated breath for my turn, which came jus 15 mins into the interview. ‘Dev saab, aapka ek fan hai, Anmol- aapse baat karna chahta hai’ – the RJ said. ‘Heyyyloooo Anmoool … kaise ho?!’ To hear my name in Dev saab very sweet voice & that inevitable style…I cldnt control my emotions & cried. ( crying ) ‘ dev saab aapko jis din milunga toh chorunga nahi’ Dev – ‘achi baat hai Anmol… Mumbai aana toh milna zaroor… abhi tum samjho ki main telephone ke thru tumse haath mila raha hun’ I kept crying…. A few years later, I reached Mumbai & called Mohan ji ( Dev saab’s closest associate ) Mohan ji got me to meet Dev Saab & then the friendship, the conversations, the film screenings & so much 🤗 I became his Bigger fan after meeting him. That was his Charm ! Dev stays with me as we celebrate 100 yrs for the Star
