Propped up my precious copy of ALL FOURS, @mirandajuly’s latest masterpiece, on a pedestal where it belongs, as it’s on a whole new level. I’ve never read a book twice so it’s also being worshipped as the first book that tempted me all over again. Tempting is a good way to describe this novel actually. Following your true intuition and all that it tempts you to question about your life. Family dynamics, art and the blurred line, sex and what really makes you horny, the ever evolving body and the changes it faces, and what happens when you bend the ‘rules’ of conventional marriage backwards and into a handstand split. There’s no brain like Miranda’s brain, and the years she spent slowly puzzle piece living this novel for us all, made what will no doubt be something you gobble up and down and burp out a glowing bubble. ITS OUT NOW LIKE AS IN TODAY. RUN OR TAKE A ROAD TRIP TO THE CLOSEST BOOKSTORE. The way the light catches behind the cover cliff in this picture, like a sunrise in action, is someone who is just about to read the book. Your world about to get a whole lot of light shed on it in the wildest way. 🌄
I think about this sweet simple dancing moment from My So Called Life a lot, leaving it here as a gentle breeze
When icon @drewbarrymore discusses your Balletcore class on her show and audience members share their childhood ballet trauma horrors!!!!! Seems I need to get Miss Angela a long stick for her next iteration in our playful ballet healing “company rehearsals” 🩰📏

@thecut asked to cover the ATDA (Angela Trimbur Dance Academy, a real yet “fictitious” school’s) very first BALLETCORE RECITAL: ‘What Dreams May Come True?’. An homage to my mom’s 1990 children’s dance school recital “When Dreams Come True’. My goals was for all the Company Members to heal their relationship with dance via: feel the thrill of an audition where everyone got in it’s just how you signed up, tracing a finger to find their name on a piece of paper on the wall in class to see what routine they were cast in, bond with their team while working on crafting costumes and choreo, tasting the backstage dressing room hairspray from a fellow dancer as they got ready, quietly settle in on stage behind a curtain…hear it open…dance their heart out with a rare techniquelsss freedom…hear thunderous roars from the audience (who also played a part) and have flowers thrown and bouquets handed over by their friends and families- feeling adored and celebrated for their vulnerable boldness. All in a world where they could do no wrong and they got to care about something that has nothing to do with their careers…just pure fun for themselves. Twas incredibly special and I’m quite honored that @emilyleibert and @sara.messinger of The Cut had their watchful journalist eyes and ears thru the process. And thank you Emily for calling Miss Angela “The C*ntiest Ballet Master In Manhattan”. @angelatrimburdance
