This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for #Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver. He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog. Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded. The police let him go b/c he claimed “self defense”. He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.
He was shopping under a woman’s identity named Merle… the pic is on my story.
He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, “yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did.”
We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member.

It’s been 2.5 weeks since we lost Oliver & there are good days & bad. Days when I can get out of bed, get dressed & run an errand or two, attend the girls’ games etc & then there are days when everything is impossible to do.
I think losing a pet is one of the hardest things to navigate in life but somehow when it’s from old age or disease it seems fair or just. They’re not suffering anymore.
Losing a pet in a violent tragedy & watching them suffer while you scramble to help them & then ultimately fail is beyond my comprehension & capacity right now.
Thank you for all of your cards & flowers, your thoughts & prayers… to all of you who have stopped me in public to say how you feel (so sorry for hugging you & crying) … it means the world to me/us.
I think all of my followers know that I choose to post my reality and truth, and this is what it is right now. Trauma is paralyzing, especially if you’ve dealt with it before in life.
& I miss my friend. 💔🦮🐾💔

What can I say? I’m so in love with these creatures! ❤️❤️
The irony is not lost on me that now my second bird is almost out of the nest… I now have two new babies. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done is let them go & it doesn’t get easier. Any mom who’s done it knows the gambit of emotions that we go through in preparation (which there is none) to let them go & then finally releasing our precious children into the world. It goes so fast. Hug your babies a little longer today! (Even when they squirm out of your grip! 🤣)
With that song I may just name them Finley & Avery. 🥺

“Some of you have been attacked since you were very young. Thats b/c the enemy was afraid of you BACK THEN. The attack & situation you are facing now is b/c you are so close to where God is placing you & His plan for you”.
