🚨MAKE THIS GO VIRAL!🚨 We disrupted the Flemish Parliament, demanding a ban on the transit and sale of weapons to Ixrahell. This is the 138th day of the genocide against the people of Gaza. 138 days of relentless bombardments on people, homes, orchards, universities, mosques, and hospitals. Through the port of Antwerp, ships from the Ixrahelli shipping company Zim have been able to transport 246 tons of ammunition and 20 tons of detonators to Israel. And they continue to do so… This weaponry is now sowing death and destruction in G@z@, Lebanon, and Syria. Our policy makers are complicit in these crimes. We have the power. Pressure our policy makers. Stop arming Gen0cide. #BoycottZim 🍉 🎥: @thomas.maddens
A new chapter of activism has begun. Many said that COP26 was one of humanity’s last chances to turn the tide sufficiently in order to stay under 1.5C. It took me a day, after COP, to reflect and feel the grief of everything that has happened and the decisions made over the past two weeks. I feel much more disappointed and exhausted than I normally do. Although some of the negotiators pretend the two last weeks were a success, most even admit it was a failure. Coal will not be phased out. Gas and oil wasn’t even on the table. Current targets will increase emissions instead of reduce them. They’ll lead to a world uninhabitable for millions of people. This is an insult towards the world. And an insult towards people. Finally there’s no words anymore to hide the inaction that is taking place. Its more than clear that our so called ‘world leaders’ decided to take a path that’ll leave millions of people behind and will endanger humanity. And as a quick reminder, these are the people many of us VOTE for. We will need to change all of it. And we can. This is not the moment to give up hope. This is the moment to not settle for anything else than the truth anymore. It’ll take time for me to figure out and completely feel what this means for me as an activist and in what way I see the future of my activism. But if there’s one thing I know it’s that we need to double, triple, the amount of pressure. And I’ll be a part of that pressure.
Worried about finding the perfect gift? How about this holiday period, you give the most sustainable present in the world: Quality time with your loved ones🌲🎁✨ 📸 @annika_ojala
Just a little reminder to all activists out there: it’s okay to feel heavy and exhausted after everything that happened at #COP26. We fought hard for resolutions and decisions, which we hoped would turn out differently. It’s extremely heavy to understand the decisions that have been made now, and the consequences that they will have. I feel heavy and tired. But I also know this will pass again. Soon I’ll be picked up by a new wave of energy and be reminded that if anyone can change what’s happening right now, it’s us. The climate movement has already had a huge impact worldwide. We owe it to the world to keep going 🌎🌍🌏
Returning to your timeline after disappearing for weeks like 👀 Hey everyone! It’s good to be back here. The past weeks I’ve been caught up with university work. Now that the exam period is over, I’m so ready to get back to work 🌍 We have an important spring ahead of us 🚀 How are you doing? Let’s talk! @youth.for.climate @fridaysforfuture 📸: @jonitoarguelles

Us yesterday when the new IPCC report came out and Belgian politicians started bragging about their ‘incredibly ambitious’ policies. The report leaves no room for greenwashing anymore. We literally have what we need to change course. It’s privilege, ignorance and a lack of political will that is robbing us from having a habitable planet. #IPCC 📸 @kellybalch
Cheap just means someone else is paying the price 💶 As #BlackFriday is approaching, I spoke with a few of my friends and realised how few people are actually aware of what Black Friday is. A huge part of the climate crisis is our fossil fuel addicted society, which is dependant on overconsumption. The fashion industry, worth 2.5 trillion dollars, is responsible for wide-spread, well-documented human rights violations and environmental destruction. The fashion industry is rife with greenwashing. Labels like ‘eco conscious’ and ‘nature-based products’ are very often just tricks to make consumers feel like they’re making right decisions, while entire companies employ methods of modern slavery and destroy biodiversity and ecosystems. 80% of ‘black friday purchases’ are thrown away after one or even no uses. These sales are based on FOMO (fear of missing out) campaigns, which prey on people’s insecurities and cause massive global pollution at the same. A recent report from U.K price comparison shows how in 2020, Black Friday in the United Kingdom was responsible for 429 thousand metric tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, which is the equivalent of 435 return flights from London to New York. In one single day, in one single country. Circular design should just be design. Sustainable fashion should just be fashion. Please share this post and make your friends and followers conscious about their decisions, their responsibility and agency to choose differently 🌍 📸 @luka_dwvdh
Personal story I had a really interesting conversation recently with a good friend, about how personal our activism is. We constantly discuss responsibility, systems and politics. But the roots of my energy comes from the personal experiences I’ve had and the people in my life. When I’m on the streets with a microphone shouting for equality, it’s because of the 12 year-old-girl I met in a refugee camp ten years ago, who made me realize how unequal this world is. When I demand LGBTQ and women’s rights, it’s because I want to be able to walk hand in hand with my partner on the streets, without being harassed. When I shout for climate justice, it’s because of the friends I made in the Amazon forest, who showed me how the political games in the western world are costing peoples lives. When I stand up and refuse to be silent, it’s because too many people in my life have tried to silence me. Going back to our roots and remembering where our activism comes from, and why we do what we do, may often look like anger, but essentially it all comes from a place of love.
Taxono- what? 🤔 Have you seen the word taxonomy trending in the last weeks, but aren’t really sure what it’s actually about? I got you. 🇪🇺 The EU taxonomy is a system that classifies and lists ‘environmentally sustainable economic activities’ to provide companies, investors and policymakers with definitions, for which economic activities can be considered ‘green’. In essence, this is created to prevent greenwashing. However, the European Commission has recently labeled both nuclear and fossil gas activities as ‘green activities’ 🤦🏼♂️ Why is this problematic? 🌱 The construction of new nuclear power plants and gas plants are not in line with the 1.5°C trajectory and are not the most sustainable energy available, both economically or environmentally. ❌ Classifying these energy sources as green would mean that companies and industries can keep investing and burning fossil fuels for years to come. This is irresponsible and it completely destroys the actual purpose of the Green Deal. 🚨 The window to meaningfully change things and not to reach any tipping points becomes smaller every day. New fossil fuel infrastructure is the last thing we can allow to happen. 📣 We cannot let this happen. We need your help to fight this, and to keep those fossil fuels in the ground. Stay tuned to find out what you can do in the coming weeks! 🔥
Just wanted to drop by to express my massive disappointment in the decisions many of the Flemish politicians have made yesterday concerning the culture sector. It’s clearly another attack against the artists and producers of the freedom in our society Experts agree this is not a scientifically motivated decision but rather an economic one, that once again highlights how – off track – our political priorities are 📸 @film_by_them
‘We really did have everything,…didn’t we?’ – don’t look up
We need honesty and #COP26 is the opposite of that.

ICJ rules in favor of South Africa and Palestine whilst Israel’s genocidal war crimes are condemned by the whole world. We demand a ceasefire and an end to all weapon transport to Israel. What can we demand from the Belgian government? #zim – one of the biggest Israeli shipping companies – is still freely navigating through Antwerp’s harbor, ferrying munitions to Israël. We need a total ban on ZIM Ships in Antwerp. These weapon transports are illegal and need to end now. It’s up to us to enforce this right now. #FreePalestine #CeaseFire #ICJ @amrophotographs 📸

The power of intuition. The ancient Icelandic word innsæi has multiple meanings and when I first found it, it resonated so much with me that I decided to get it inked on my body. It can mean “the sea within” which is the borderless nature of our inner world, a constantly moving world of vision, feelings and imagination beyond words. That’s where everything else begins. It can mean “to see within” which is about knowing yourself well enough to be able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is how we fight hatred and where we connect with each other. Be it your partner or a complete stranger. And it can mean “to see from the inside out” which is to have a strong inner compass to navigate your way in our ever-changing world. This is where we learn to take agency and responsibility of our role in the world. Do you have a symbolic tattoo? Tell me about it 👇🏼
#ZIM is transporting weapons to Isra.l through the harbor of Antwerp. Worldwide protest, a clear ruling from ICJ and legal cases don’t seem to be enough for Belgium to ban ZIM. As long as this doesn’t happen, Belgium is complicit in the genocide against Palest.ne Join this call to pressure the Belgian government to join the boycot against ZIM. #BlockTheBoat 🎥 @joachim_blomme

Last week, I spoke at the opening of the Women’s Forum Global Meeting in Paris, together with the brilliant @camilleaumontcarnel and @graine_de_possible . I was asked to speak on leadership. Going on stage, specifically to talk about this topic, felt completely surreal after the massive letdown of leadership and display of corporate greed we had just collectively experienced at #COP26. I would like to share a part of my speech with you. “Very often, just like today, we enter spaces which are built on foundations of colonialism and white supremacy with people present who are directly complicit in the injustice and horrible realities people have to live in today. The executives that I will be sharing the stage with today, from corporations which make profit out of environmental degradation, oppression, hate and divide, aren’t exactly representatives of the kind of leadership I look up to. Because of the reality we are in today, it is simply not enough anymore to talk about the climate and human rights crisis in these exclusive summits and events. We can’t just talk about the crisis when it’s convenient to us, and when it suits us. We need to start talking about it every single day.” How do you think we can hold our leaders more accountable for the change we so desperately need after #COP26? Let me know below 👇🏼 #WFGM21 @womens_forum
