Dom I am so proud to be your mom, to watch you grow, to see you chase your dreams, to see you take your hits & get back up and keep going. You are my greatest gift, you being so much fun & joy to my life every day. I thank god every day that you are my boy! Mom loves you so much.
Months away from turning 42, I can honestly say I am the healthiest, strongest I have ever been. You might see a lean woman that makes it look like it all comes naturally. What you don’t see are all the scars, trials and tribulations that have been overcome over the years.
• C-section
• hernia
• benign growth on the side of my knee that had to be surgically removed
• sprained hip complex that left me barely able to walk for a month.
•scoliosis
• a freak “injury” as a child that left me hospitalized, unable to walk & left doctors wondering if I would recover. I did but with no explanation as to why I was in so much pain.
These are just a few of the physical obstacles I’ve had to overcome over the years. Im sure we all have reasons why it’s hard and why on some days we don’t feel like we can do it. But all you need is one good reason to keep going. My “why” has changed over the years but my goal to lead a healthy life hasn’t.
It’s an honor to have hard work celebrated but honestly it’s about how I feel on the inside that matters most to me. And I FEEL AMAZING! This is a journey for life, believe it or not I’m just getting started. 💚

Sharing with y’all one of my favorite breakfasts right now. I don’t do a lot of meal prepping & I don’t like to spend a lot of time cooking, BUT my food does have to be delicious! 😋
I like to have fresh veggies, fruit, protein & healthy carbs on hand and I mix and match based on what I’m in the mood for. This breakfast has lots of veggies which are good for your gut ( a healthy gut supports healthy hormones), good fat & protein. All of which also helps keep your blood sugar stable in the morning.
I know not everyone likes veggies, especially first thing in the morning but y’all, sometimes you have to be willing to explore, try new things and adjust your mindset around “breakfast” food. If you’ll eat breakfast for dinner why not something you normally eat for dinner, for breakfast?! Let me know if you would try this.

Fit over 40, pools side body weight workout 👙💪🏻
There’s a lot of things I do to stay fit at 43, eating healthy, watching my portion sizes, drinking plenty of water, and getting quality sleep. But there’s one thing that is my favorite part of my day & routine…. MOVEMENT!
No matter where I am, at home, on a work trip or on vacation, I move my body every day. Some days it’s heavy weight training, others it’s Pilates or cardio. Sometimes I just enjoy a nice leisurely walk outside but the point is movement feels good & is good for us. Body weight exercise are some of the best & most versatile workouts you can do. So here’s a short body weight workout to do pool side, at the beach or anywhere else.
I go for higher reps with body weight so 2-3 sets of 20 reps
-squats
-alternating reverse lunges
-push ups
-jumping jacks (go for 30-60 seconds at a time)
-flutter kicks

Pilates would be what would make me feel like my most strong & athletic self! 🤯
Working toward my Basi Pilates certification for the last year has improved my overall strength, stability, mobility, flexibility & control so much. I LOVE weight training & it’s still very much a part of my routine, but doing Pilates multiple times a week is now something I look forward too so much. Even when it’s extremely challenging (and believe me it can be) I don’t feel exhausted afterwards. I actually feel energized!

A little about me, I’m a fitness & nutrition expert with @bodi I’ve been with the company for 11 years but have been in the industry for over 20. WAIT! THIS MIGHT BE YOU!
Feeling exhausted, experiencing low moods, having to turn to caffeine & sugar to get through the day? Ya I’ve been there. There are a lot of things that can cause these issues but I’ve learned first hand that one of the biggest ones is adrenal dysfunction, aka adrenal fatigues (not a medical term), aka burnout.
A traumatic experience, low grade chronic stress, be it physical, mental or emotional or even food sensitivities can cause it. It’s the dysfunction of your adrenal glands which ultimately means abnormal production of adrenal hormones, especially cortisol.
High levels of cortisol in the body from ongoing stress can also affect the production of certain neurotransmitters like serotonin which can impact your mood. Cortisol also plays an important role in regulating the immune response.
What are some natural ways to combat this? Great question.
-adequate, good quality sleep
-unplugging from social media & work
-scheduling time for fun & relaxation
-breath work, breathing techniques to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system
-getting out in nature
-paying attention to your nutrition & consuming an anti-inflammatory diet.

Heavy leg day today, felt strong 💪🏻 4 sets, 15 reps, went heavier each round. Started with 17.5s, 20s, 25s, and 30s. Hardest part of the 30s was my grip strength but it only gets stronger if you keep working it.

Savory Vegetable Pancakes
Serves: 4 (approx. 2 pancakes and 1½ tsp. sauce each)

FOR SAUCE:
1 Tbsp. reduced-sodium coconut liquid aminos
1½ tsp. rice vinegar
½ tsp. water
½ tsp. toasted sesame oil
½ tsp. toasted sesame seeds
FOR PANCAKES:
1½ cups / 205 g gluten-free, all-purpose flour
1 cup / 240 mlwater
1 tsp. sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
1 cup / 55 g chopped baby spinach
½ cup / 55 g grated carrots
½ cup / 50 g thinly sliced green onions
½ cup / 35 g thinly sliced red cabbage
1 medium jalapeño, deseeded, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp. ½ tsp. avocado oil
1. To make sauce, add liquid aminos, vinegar, water, sesame oil, and sesame seeds to a small mixing bowl; whisk to combine.
2. To make pancakes, add flour, water, and salt to a large mixing bowl; stir to combine. Gently fold in spinach, carrots, green onions, cabbage, and jalapeño.
3. Heat 1 tsp. avocado oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add dollops of batter (approximately ¼ cup / 60 ml) each to skillet, leaving space between each dollop.
4. Flatten pancakes with a spatula; cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip; cook for 2 to 3 additional minutes, or until golden-brown. Repeat with remaining batter and oil until all pancakes are cooked. Divide pancakes evenly among 4 serving plates. Add 1½ tsp. sauce to each of 4 small ramekins. Place 1 ramekin on each serving plate.

I’ve been in a bad habit of ordering in most of my dinners. While it’s healthy food, it’s still not the same as cooking at home it starts to add up fast! 💰 So I’m challenging myself to make 95% of my meals at home for the next 30 days. I’ll share what I’m making in my stories.
