Aya Fernandez Instagram – Every day, mothers tirelessly care for their families, often bearing the responsibility of managing water-related tasks in their households — from fetching water for drinking, cooking, washing, cleaning to implementing sanitation and hygiene practices.
In partnership with @columbiasportswearph Hike Society, Waves For Water Philippines visited Sitio Banawen in San Felipe, Zambales, to provide clean water access to 100 households and equip students and teachers of Banawen Elementary School with portable handwashing stations.
During our visit, we shared heartfelt conversations with Nanay Virgie, Nanay Violeta, and Nanay Sheila, shedding light on the challenges they face as mothers and women, including the long journey from the city and reliance on contaminated water sources for their daily needs. Despite these hardships, their resilience and dedication fuels our commitment to continue our mission.
