There are no innocent bystanders & today Canada’s very own “justice” system proved that statement ten fold. Today, after 2.5 harrowing years, battling with the system against my ex boyfriend, who was charged EIGHT times for his violent attacks on me, I received a mere “peace” bond for my attempted murder. This means a dangerous criminal is free to roam Leaside and Toronto. This means his child is not safe. This means, once again Canada has adhered to the rights of the criminal not the victim. Prosecution wanted me to go away quietly; they wanted me to speak over zoom from LA. I told them: don’t bet against me and I’ll see you in court. 25 friends & family showed up. Here we are. Im honored to announce, today, on @internationalwomensday_global that this October 24th 2024 I will be hosting & cochairing an inaugural Gala at @fstoronto with @sheltermovers & @bassettjennifer to raise awareness & funds to help assist those fleeing domestic and gender based violence. I am also working with members of Parliament in Canada to amend laws that disproportionally affect women & children who simply want to live their lives safely & have their abusers prosecuted.
