They’ve lost 468 seats so far (some results still to be announced) – almost half of the council seats they were defending. Liberal Democrats for the first time in history have won more seats than the Tories in local elections. Tactical Voting helped to push the Tories to this cataclysmic result. This government defending the result – OF COURSE THEY ARE. Tory Minister Mel Stride said on BBC Politics Live on Friday that the problem is having a ‘volatile electorate’. Volatile? It’s our fault according to the Tories. They are now in such a head space of entitlement and superiority it’s as though we, the voters, the taxpayers, are just a pain in the neck who shouldn’t really be allowed to have their say.
