We’re taught early on in school the difference between right and wrong. ⁠
there are some things that are very clearly right and some things that are very clearly wrong. ⁠
⁠
Hate of any kind Is never right. You know that, and I know that. ⁠
⁠
But over the last seven months we have seen more hate than ever before. ⁠
⁠
As a Jewish American woman, and one who has been very vocal about the Jewish community, one who has been standing up against antisemitism, I’ve been on the receiving end of more hate than I could ever imagine. ⁠
⁠
Im not sharing this with you so that you feel bad, I am sharing this with you so that you understand the realities of the world right now. The hate—it makes me stronger, it makes me more vocal and because of it, I will never stop fighting because I dont want my kids to grow up in a place where they experience hate because of their religion. ⁠
⁠
I dont want YOUR kids to grow up in a world where they experience hate of any kind either—whether it be for their religion, sexual orientation, skin color or for any other reason. ⁠
⁠
And so I thought that today would be a good day to rerun an episode with a founder who simply did what was right. ⁠
⁠
She stood up and spoke out as an ally of the Jewish community. She heard the hate and in a now-viral post, asked: Why?⁠
⁠
Why did she do it? Because it was the right thing to do. ⁠
⁠
I’m honored to rerun my conversation with @carolinedamore, Founder of @pizzagirl. She is a friend and an advocate for the Jewish community, someone who owns a business and had every thing to lose by saying something—but wasn’t afraid to stand up for what was right. ⁠
