The moment Charlene and Judi danced their way into the BAFTA’s, got refused entry, and then danced their way right back out🤣🤣🤣 #loosewomen #baftas

On this day three years ago my beautiful, wonderful, talented cousin Ryan passed away in his sleep. A loss that reverberated through my whole family. Still can’t believe that his smile is no longer here… but grateful for all the friendships built, and the family bonds cemented as a result of his passing. None of us got to say goodbye, but we do all know that he knew he was loved ❤️.
Deffo didn’t look like this on the school run this morning. The End.
Pic no.1: the last pic in my camera roll *before* giving birth to Alfie, in Aug 2017 Pic no.2: the first pic in my camera roll *after* giving birth to Alfie Shared as part of @savechildrenuk’s campaign for International Day Of The Midwife which is on Sunday 5th May. Giving birth is hard. Giving birth without support is even harder. And I think that if you haven’t got that support be it your community, be it your village, be it a medical team is utterly heartbreaking. Women are amazing beings who are able to bring new life into this world to keep the world going. The thought of women going through what should be a beautiful moment but in horrific circumstances is just heartbreaking. So, for #InternationalDayOfTheMidwife on Sunday I’m joining @savechildrenUK to celebrate all the brilliant midwives and healthcare professionals. Together we believe women should have better access to maternal healthcare, because delivering a baby safely is where lasting change for children starts. Delayed Easter Simnel cake decorating with my great-aunt Joyce, and quality cousin-time for the kids. Each of them rolled their share of marzipan balls to represent the 11 apostles. As taught by my Aunty Joyce (although I think we’re like 3rd or 4th cousins???). I was blessed that my mum and dad raised us in a huge [metaphorical] village of friends and family, it shapes who you grow up to become in so many ways. So I want to give the kids that gift too ❤️.

I bid farewell to April with this lot. We laughed, we drank, and we marvelled at the fact that 20 years ago the BBC put a national black music radio station in our hands, and we had the most fun. 1Xtra played a huge part of the grown-ups we became. We were lucky to have each other then… and we’re lucky to have each other now. And every time we meet it’s like no time has passed ❤️
How is this 10 years ago?! Wow… all up in my feels for a spot of throwback JOY this morning. We journos put the world to rights that night, and have continued to celebrate the wins, and give hugs when needed. Women supporting women is a beautiful thing. Oh… and my kids have aged me maaaaaaan! They’d better appreciate me giving up my youthful glow in order to procreate 😭😭😂😂. @tvmarv @miss_samjohnson @claudializatv
