Charlotte Ross Instagram – My first big break was getting the role of Eve Donovan on Days of Our Lives. I, literally, just graduated high school and had driven to LA from Illinois by myself to follow my dreams. I had already been a working actor since 13 yrs old but this, definitely was the role that I had been praying for! Eve was a beautifully damaged, insecure young teen that had been searching for her real father all her life and in her journey (like only a great soap opera would have) she became a hooker to survive but then fell in love with her pimp, got slashed by the “Salem slasher”, was in the hospital and jail too many times to count, sang Wind Beneath My Wings so often that her pimp, Nick bought her a club called “Wings” to sing in, tried to marry Jack (and Frankie?) but it was my character’s suicide attempt after being relentlessly bullied that had a profound effect on me (last clip). I remember getting letters (before social media) from people who had experienced bullying, thought about committing suicide and/ or changed their minds after seeing our storyline, etc. I responded to as many letters as I could with advice/support, bully and suicide hotline numbers, etc.. my heart ached. I never take for granted being in the public eye and will always try to use my platform for more awareness… as best I can anyway. 🙏🏼 The cast became my family in real life and I called it “my College” because I was on for 4 years and lived at UCLA so I could try to live a “normal” life outside of Hollywood and I’m very thankful for the training and work ethic it gave me having to memorize upwards of 40 pages of dialogue a day with maybe one day off a year. Because of my singing on the show, I was able to release an album of original songs with my sweet costar Anthony Alda (RIP) called, After Hours (anyone remember that?). 🎶 Not a day goes by where I’m not continually in awe by the love and support of my loyal fans for this role- I’m touched and beyond grateful as Eve will always be a huge part of my soul… 🙏🏼❤️ #flashbackfriday #fbf #EveDonovan #daysofourlives #days #dool #followyourdreams #soaps #soapopera
