#azadi #mahsaamini My heart is with these amazons in Afghanistan and Iran fighting for their rights to be educated, to work, to express themselves – they are our sisters and I am rooting for them with all my soul Repost from @feminist • Women of Afghanistan are making #herstory now. Protesting their right to ‘Azadi’ (freedom)🪧 Women demonstrated across various cities in Afghanistan after dozens of mostly young women were killed in an attack on a school last week. In WhatsApp groups and on social media, academics and activists mobilised to condemn the unrelenting violence on the Hazara as well as restrictions on women and minorities. “We have to raise our voices and organise ourselves. This genocide against Hazara has to end,” University professor Zahra Mosawi. Girls’ secondary schools have been closed in most provinces, including Kabul, since the Taliban took over in August 2021. The leadership backtracked on promises to open all schools in March. 🎞 by @selenophile____001 via @alamdarqais #WomenProtest #WomenMarch #WomenPower #AfghanWomen #Afghanistan #Feminism #Activism #WomenActivists

This artist is singing the tweets of his fellow Iranian citizens – an artist speaking and raising the voices of his people. In awe. Repost from @yasharali This video of singer @shervinine singing tweets by Iranians who share why they’re fighting for freedom went viral with tens of millions of views. The Islamic Republic has forced Shervin to delete the video and they have arrested him. The people of Iran need your support more than ever. The intelligence agencies of the Islamic Republic are conducting mass arrests in an effort to silence protesters and artists. This amazing film succeeds at the incredible feat of portraying the process of writing, and the meaning of, the profoundly important book, Caste, by Isabel Wilkerson, which I read back in 2020. “The cracks won’t fix themselves” says Aunjanue Ellis, the beautiful and riveting actor who plays Ms Wilkerson, speaking of the old house – our world – which we have inherited, along with the Caste systems through which one group of people enforces the systemic, vile subjugation of another. The cracks won’t fix themselves.. we must. Working with Ava is truly awe inspiring – she is a master

For #worldfoodday I am proud to thank our partner @worldfoodprogramme for supporting our work with hydroponics – which has been so successful. Repost from @hnp_org • Education is vital when it comes to better nutrition. In addition to growing vegetables utilizing hydroponics farming methods and distributing the produce to over 1,300 people in Kibera, we are also educating our community on food preservation techniques, as many families don’t have refrigeration at home. Up-and-coming farmers, as well as community members who are a part of our program also learn how to cook food in a way that preserves nutrients, bettering the health of our community. Thank you WFP @worldfoodprogramme for being such amazing collaborators, helping us improve food security and nutrition in our community! #WorldFoodDay #hydroponics #hydroponic #hydroponicgarden #hydroponicfarming #farming #farmingphotos #foodsecurity #foodinsecurity #nairobi #nonprofit #impact #kibera
