Prioritizing recovery has been JOURNEY. As an athlete and a dancer I LOVE power moves and high activity, and slowing down has been my life long struggle (in every area, quite frankly). BUT the more I strength train in between barre, pilates, dance, running and yoga the more I see deep stretching and recovery are not a recommendation they’re a requirement. My body doesn’t hold elasticity like it did 10/20 years ago, and strength training puts a different type of tension on my body especially in my hips and hamstrings. If I want to stay flexible, I have to work at it more than before. I could’ve saved myself from many injuries and chronic pain if I had stopped being stubborn earlier🙈
Recovery affects every area of my life, simply because the better I feel the better I can show up and be present for others.
Sometimes I hold positions and sometimes I flow. I dedicate at least one to two minutes in each position when I want a deep release, and I’m really starting to crave it finally! I love to put on music and move my body in whatever way feels natural. I believe our bodies tell us where tension is being held and how we can release it if we just take the time listen.
Recovery and mobility are essential for longevity in our movement and well-being. Are you taking time to nourish the balance of rest and slow movement your body needs?
I also love the metaphor with the word “intensity” BEHIND me that I noticed after the fact😜 .. new chapter baby, with intentional slower movement.
* If I looked distracted, it’s because I never want to make anyone else around me uncomfortable by filming. I kept looking to make sure no one was prominently in the shot.

Do you ever feel like you’ve changed or put in the work to grow only to be met with resistance from others to accept or acknowledge the change because they’re too stuck in who you were or too caught in their day to day to mentally make a shift and redefine you in the present moment?
I hear way too often in so many ways, “I’m working on being less/more of ‘BLANK’, but the people around me just keep holding me hostage to what I used to be, or they keep pointing out how I’m “blank” even though I’m not anymore.”
As human beings, we’re meant to evolve and grow. It’s counterintuitive to stay the same, yet we constantly define someone into a certain category and rarely go back to make edits or add new information which can change or expand their categorization.
Ask yourself: At what point do you stop asking questions to find more information because you assume you know the inner workings of someone? .. There’s no way that we can possibly know everything that goes on in someone’s mind and heart and what they’re working towards, so why don’t we ask more questions and follow along with them in their growth journey?
This is something I’ve been working on lately, asking the people closest to me deeper questions to learn who they are TODAY instead of assuming I know the answer or their course of action based on history.
We’re all trying to break out of our little box and become all we feel we’re meant to be- break old patterns, learn new skills and have new adventures to bring new insights. Let’s support each other in this growth as best we can. ❤️
What have you grown in that you feel you would love people to see..?
LIFE FLIES BY …
We have many different aspects to ourselves that circulate through the day, or through seasons of our life, depending on what we’re doing or experiencing, who we’re around and how we feel. Leave room and compassion for them all, they all make up the complexity and dynamism of you as a human being.
But most importantly, leave room to honor others intricacies of their personality and framework. It’s easy to let judgment cloud curiosity and blind us to compassion, amusement and love. Let’s enjoy others while we’re around them, observe their whole world of nuance and find joy in our shared experience. We’re all just doing our best.
As I said, life flies by- so let’s appreciate and relish in our human experience, individually and together.

PORTAL OF POSSIBILITY
(( or Polaris? A Hedron? OOP? 😜🔻)
🪞 A mirror into the intricacies and complexities of who we are. This was what it represented to me and why I couldn’t stop staring.. It was exactly what I saw when I rounded the corner and saw this geometric bubble. I was captivated. I didn’t want to look away. I felt like it was teaching me and reminding me at the same time.
All the different sections and portals, like an echo chamber, mirroring and reflecting off one another, yet representing an individuality where not one was an exact replica of another. Like the schemata of a brain, a neural network, visceral, cognitive and somatic memory storage, the rabbit hole of intrusive and over processed thought, an array of magical imaginative possibilities, the windows to the soul.
I could’ve stared at this for hours, stirring something different in each moment as it was constantly molding and shifting in my awareness of what could be.
Do you ever stare at something long enough that it begins to take a different shape? This happens sometimes when I get to know someone better and one day I realize their face begins to change and I start to see them more clearly and authentically. What areas of your life does this happen? Are there places where you can spend a little more time looking at something to allow for a new framework or meaning to unfold?
