I’ve taken the last 5 years to be completely present for my boys, putting my career on the back burner on a slow slow simmer. Creating content at home and only traveling for short weekend cons to stay connected to what has given me the career I worked so hard to stay relevant in. Being a Mom has been and will always be the most important “role” in my life’s journey, but at my very core I will always be an actress. My world functions thanks to my husbands support and my family and friends. I’m ready to get back home, but I’m grateful that I’m inspired again. Im excited to show you a different side of me on screen. Looking at photos from the monitor on set while filming, I look like a different woman. My boys have softened me and shown me a love that has penetrated me so deeply, I can’t help but carry it with me wherever I go. The only director to keep his promise. @dwightlittle8mm when we finished Halloween 4, told me if he EVER had a role for me it would be mine. “Marked for Death” came a few years later. Then @nattyknocksmovie we reunited after 35 years he’s still casting me as his leading lady! Growing up on sets in the 80’s and 90’s gave me a very unhealthy level of normalcy when it came to proper set etiquette. We have gone so far the other direction now in 2024 where production walks on eggshells to protect everyone, that I’m finding it hard to understand how to balance and fit in while working. What I was taught and what feels “comfortable” to me shouldn’t be acceptable. This weeks episode opened up my eyes and I realize that I still have a ways to go in my journey of healing the child actor inside me. I hope that real change is coming for kids on set, NOW is the time. @nickelodeon_docu

I’ve always felt powerful and in control over men in my 20’s/30’s, or at least thats what I was trying to portray. Until it was real. Until it was real intimacy. Then I became someone else. Someone who was scared so I sacrificed my wants and self worth to make my partner want me. To love me. To not leave me. Watched @jlo documentary today and realized how we are all the same. Healing the little girl. So much of this has come up while writing my book, it’s scary as fuck to share your private struggles, but if anyone’s is gonna tell your story it might as well be you. Bravo @jlo you didn’t have to prove anything to anyone. I’m happy for you. Now go get that love you deserve. #love
