Ego Nwodim Instagram – I never thought I’d say this, but…I ran a half marathon!!!! On Sunday. In Brooklyn. And I ran it in less time than I’d hoped to 🙏🏾🥰 What a ride (I WISH it was a damn ride)! I’ve never been a runner, except that one time I spur of the moment raced Gary Richardson at 2 am at an SNL after party in heels and smoked him (last slide 😮‍💨). I’m so very grateful to my coach @kimberly.yee_ who was the perfect dreamy combo of soothing and challenging, and trained me over the last 7 weeks while I worked and traveled and got sick and injured and everything in between. She even ran the last 4 miles with me like a lil angel. My good sis @ashleighcrystal said I wouldn’t do it unless there was cake waiting for me at the finish line, “…and I took that personally.” 13.1 miles and there was no cake waiting for me at the finish line BUT my favorite song of all time “Salt Shaker” by the Ying Yang Twins happened to be playing as I crossed and that felt just as special ✨🤌🏾 I have the best friends who rooted for me, brought safety pins for my bib to me at 6 am, sent cupcakes and flowers, and offered an abundance of love. I did it and pretty sure I won’t be doing it again! To all the runners out there, yall crazy for that!!! 😘❤️
