Emily Coutts Instagram – He wanted to hike to the top of the tallest peak. I wasn’t sure he’d be able to but I thought, why not try. We forged a winding path, committed to not hurting a single poppy on the way. We arrived at the peak and sat down for a break. I asked him if he wanted to listen to a meditation about change and letting go, I thought we both could use it. We closed our eyes and listened for 15 minutes, feeling the breeze. When we gently opened our eyes we were surrounded not only by poppies and warm breeze but by hundreds of butterflies dancing around us. We looked at each other, started to smile then laugh. What magic. I will never forget that moment. And now I will picture him there, smiling back at me. Transforming like the butterfly.
