Life can be so unpredictable at times. I had planned to fly to Calgary this week to attend the 4th annual @calgaryblackfilmfest #CBFF24 when life stopped me so I could stay in Montreal to care for a loved one at the hospital. They are doing a little better now.
These moments in life remind us that we are not in total control and that life is fragile. It also reminds us to enjoy every moment and to show love to our family as often as we possibly can.
In these times, I so appreciate that all our film festivals, including #CBFF24, are also being held both in person & online for massive accessibility. That will allow our family (and many people) to enjoy the festival’s films & panels online from Friday, May 24, till Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Pourquoi un Mois de l’Histoire des Noirs? Pour moi, c’est une occasion de célébration de nos différences qui nous rendent uniques et de nos similarités qui nous rassemblent. C’est ça la diversité! Après tout, nous sommes tous et toutes de la même race, la race humaine.
Le Mois de l’Histoire des Noirs nous permet aussi de poser un regard sur le passé et le chemin parcouru, apprécier le présent et mieux préparer l’avenir.
C’est d’ailleurs ce qui nous a poussé à lancer il y a 13 ans le @festivalfonduaunoir créé par la Fabienne Colas Foundation et présenté par le Groupe Banque @td_canada. Devenu aujourd’hui, le plus grand festival consacré à la célébration du Mois de l’Histoire des Noirs au Québec.
Et du 7 au 11 février 2024, il présentera plus de 50 artistes et invités de tous les horizons à travers des discussions, réflexions et débats, mais aussi des spectacles de musique, d’humour, du cinema, des confessions…
