Had a bunch of cipollini onions left over from last week. Decided to carmelize them. I then added garlic, vegetarian parm, lemon juice, olive oil and heavy cream to make a sauce.
And yeah…I topped it with Scallion, Garlic, Parsley and Lemon King Crab just BECAUSE. 😉

I’m not gon’ say I had a bad day yesterday, however it was challenging.
It was a day that satan KEPT reminding me “you deal with selfish, insecure, ungrateful and envious people.”
If my dad were alive he would’ve told me, “Yep! PEOPLE. SUCK.”
If my mom were, she would’ve simply reminded me, ” STOP being so giving to everyone .”
And if I had my grandmother (my dad’s mom) she would’ve said, ” Don’t get weary in WELL DOING.”
BEFORE prayer this morning , I woke up somewhere in between all 3.
Afterwards, GOD REMINDED ME that, “THIS IS THE DAY HE HAS MADE. SO REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT!!!”
Bottom line, some people can’t help themselves. Their issues were PRIOR TO YOUR PRESENCE.
We can’t let other people’s “stuff” get us out of ALIGNMENT with GOD’S DAY.
Not their day, but GOD”S DAY!!!
SO THANK YOU GOD FOR LISTENING.

I’ve learned that “Being a Blessing to someone” most times has NOTHING to do with money.
Sometimes it’s a kind word.
A hug.
Sometimes it’s a smile.
A prayer.
Sometimes it’s providing an opportunity.
A reminder:
That it’s gonna be ok.
Sometimes it’s just listening.
I spent alot of years chasing what I thought I could get, only to find out what you give is way more significant.
I also learned that folks will definitely take advantage of your friendship, your kindness, your silence and your availability. So I’ve also learned to give with discernment.
It was hard to do, but NECESSARY.
This word today encouraged me to press on though.
To continue to be a CHEERFUL GIVER.
And to continue to give (as I can) without allowing it to be a burden on me.

I woke up today THANKFUL.
And UNDERSTANDING that you have to be willing to endure the process.

I started talking to my mom. 🙏🏾😇
My grandmother.
My dad. 🙏🏾😇
My friends.
Other family members.
And asking them about food. Food that they love. Food that I made. Food that makes them happy.
I jumped ALL the way in.
The kitchen. The stores. The classes. The chefs. The books. The farms. The mess ups. The yums. The burnts. The yucks. The ALL. OF. IT!
I embraced it all.

2 years ago TODAY….. THIS was on the menu at class for a program I was taking at @iceculinary
Nevermind the fact that initially I couldn’t pronounce one blessed thing, I also dreaded the details of it all.
And WHO KNEW French Onion Soup was made with BEEF BROTH???
The first pic of my soup is what I made in class. I couldn’t try it though because it was made with beef.
The second one is what I made at home with veggie broth. Its now literally one of my FAVORITE DISHES PERIOD. And ain’t it PRETTY??? SOOOOO YUMMY TOO.
So if I can encourage you to go ahead and INVEST IN YOU! The time is going to pass regardless.
