This month is the month dedicated to mental health awareness, yes? However, why? Why is it that there needs to be a month that dictates that now mental health is suddenly important? Just like holidays. Is it just another marketing scheme? Just another way to “raise awareness” to something we all inherently know about but don’t take enough time out of our lives to talk about or check in with or put in a little extra energy? Or do we just not care? Do we not care about the things that don’t revolve around the center of our universes so, it does not exist? I’m just trying to understand it. Is it that we live in a world where all that matters is being narcissistic? And vain and self-obsessed that we can’t comprehend that each year there are more and more humans who need help? We are told ‘if you need help ask for it’ but, when you do people shame you. No one is there to help you so what do you do, but feel like you can’t ask for help. Feel like you’re not doing enough? What is enough(In a world where everyone is in competition with each other)? How about, learning to love yourself and then learning to love others? Every day we should check in with ourselves and see how we are feeling. Not just 1 month out of the 12 in a year. How do you wish to live your life? Ruled by what you see on social media? By a medical diagnosis? By labels slapped on you by different people that may have stuck with you all throughout your life? We are the captains of our own lives-we steer the ship and decide the path we lead. The choice is ultimately ours. Until then, nothing will change. *important to note: I am speaking about the world/society at large and no specific group or person-thank you*

Apologies for the hiatus… What an intense couple of months it has been. The actual end of the world it has felt like. Between the strikes and fighting for voices to be heard/rights in the entertainment industry-to actual war breaking out-to literal chaos ensuing all around. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who was part of @janedoesnotknow ‘s production last summer I SAW THE TV GLOW. The entire cast and the incredible crew. All so talented and hardworking. I know I wasn’t on for more than a couple of days but I witnessed a team that was passionate, dedicated (as Jane expressed), and there because of their drive to create. It was truly inspiring to be around and I will forever be grateful for having been able to experience it. Especially after the past couple of months we’ve all had to endure. More appreciation than ever for what we all are fortunate enough to do. For showing up and bringing so much-contributing so much(of your selves). Yes we need thespians, however, we need everyone else who is not seen working equally as hard! Anyways, long story short, very excited that I SAW THE TV GLOW will be having its world premiere at @sundanceorg ! @a24 Huge CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved!
