Beannactaí na Bealtaine! Bealtaine Blessings! This is one of the most important times of our year and we’ve been celebrating this ancient Celtic pagan festival for thousands of years. It’s the end of winters challenges and darkness and a step into abundance, bounty and light. It marks the halfway point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice It’s a festival of life, growth, rebirth, of fertile land, warmth of the sun and is celebrated with a festival of Fire. Fires were and are lit and danced around at Uisneach the spiritual centre of Ireland, the birthplace of Goddess Erú who Ireland/Eire is named after. Vibrations swirled around the room like a whirlwind with such enormous, palpable energy. Although their physical presence was so greatly missed I really felt Sinead and Shanes spiritual presence with us. We cried, laughed, sang, listened, felt, held and were held. So I get home after travelling but all I have is 1 onion, 1 clove garlic and a little bit of cheese. But… bread and spinach is in the freezer. Tin cannelloni beans and jar Tomato Sorted!!!! I’m so sad to hear of the recent passing of my friend and guitar genius Duane Eddy. He created the most badass guitar sound that has influenced so many. What a life he had and with his beloved Dee Dee by his side. He was a true gentlemen and one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. His charisma was so intense he hardly had to move for his presence to be felt. His playing said it all. Total Legend. I send my love to Dee Dee, his family, friends and his many fans. It was an honour to sing Song for Kathryn a duet I recorded with @christydignammusic at the celebration of his wonderful life last Friday @vicar_st I loved working with and getting to know Christy. He was a warm hearted, interesting, witty, sharp, down to earth, charismatic, extraordinary Dublin legend and this is the extraordinary song he wrote as a last farewell to his beloved wife Kathryn. Thank you @kieradignam for gathering us all with such love in your fathers name.
