Isabella Rossellini Instagram – Paolo and Vittorio Taviani are no longer with us . They have an enormous presence in my heart. They won the Cannes Film Festival in 1977 when my father #robertorossellini was the president of the jury . My father died of a heart attack 3 days later. Paolo and Vittorio rushed to be with me and my brothers and sisters with enormous tenderness and support.. The following year I made my first film as an actress with them” IL PRATO”. I didn’t want to be an actress then fearing comparison with my mother #ingridbergman. But mamma insisted “ You cannot miss the opportunity to work with such great artists as the Taviani brothers just for fear of press” I did the film. I got horrible reviews but mamma was right. Working with the Taviani, getting to know them and their families has been life changing for me . Their immense warmth and tenderness , which can be seen in their films, has always been healing to me.. Paolo and Vittorio Taviani have been for me what a lighthouse is for a boat in the middle of a tempest .
