Jessica Tyler Instagram – I hadn’t known this before, but April is Cesarean Birth Awarness Month 💘
Anthony’s birth-day was the best day of my life. We had known for a while that we were having a c-section as he was breech, but what I hadn’t known was how beautiful his birth would still be.
The calmness of the room. The support from the nurses while I braved the spinal. The encouraging doctors. My husband holding my hand during the entire procedure. The happy tears that were shed by all when our rainbow baby let out that first cry. My husband holding our son against my face for our first moments of skin to skin. It never mattered to me how Anthony arrived here on earth, all that mattered was that he arrived safely. And in that moment, with the 3 of us all cuddled together while I was sewn back up, I’ve never felt more at peace.
I’ve had friends who’ve had unmedicated deliveries, epidurals, planned c-sections and emergency c-sections. And one thing that remains the same no matter what your choice or experience is: birth is birth 🩵
A c-section couldn’t be further from “the easy way out.” But the real truth is, there is no easy way out. Pregnancy, birth, motherhood, it all takes strength. No matter what the birth plan or story is. Mothers are warriors 🫶🏻
