Moving forward, I kindly ask not to tag the police further, as the matter is now being handled by them. ❤️🙏 Incident I booked a Rapido bike taxi to get home from Madiwala. If you’ve been there in the morning, you know how auto drivers swarm you, even snatching bags so that you take their auto. I always decline their autos since I live nearby and @rapidoapp bike taxi is much cheaper, usually costing around ₹25-30 compared to their ₹100 minimum. Once my Rapido arrived, it was surrounded by auto drivers, forcing the driver to cancel. I stepped in and insisted on my ride, but they held onto the bike, refusing to let us go. Despite explaining my emergency, they insisted I take an auto or bus. Auto drivers don’t accept rides through Uber and Ola, leaving them with a monopoly. I believe everyone should have the right to choose their job, not just auto drivers. They shouldn’t be making the rules or acting like the police. They even tried to force a cancellation by snatching the bike’s key. I stood my ground, refusing to cancel. As we tried to leave, the auto drivers were after us, honking and shouting. One even followed us, threatening the Rapido driver. He only backed off when I threatened to report him to the police. This isn’t the Karnataka I know and love. It’s been my home for almost a decade, and I’ve always preached about its safety. We need solutions: 1. More police patrolling around auto stands. 2. Uber and Ola need to take action against drivers who refuse to accept the rides or cancel any booked rides. 3.
