Katie Melua Instagram – I’m really enjoying this read by Royd Climenhaga. It’s a practical exploration of the way the modern dance choreographer Pina Bausch worked. I’ve been a huge fan of hers for years and have always wondered how she created her pieces, and this book sheds some light on her process.
She would ask her dancers questions like “What are the limits of tenderness?”, and so the pieces would build out of the dancers’ responses.
There is so much depth to how she worked and this lays it out so well.
I’m making notes, thinking about how we can use her wisdom in the record-making world.
