#notsopretty just to be clear, i’m not saying religion = not making your dreams come true. i know tons of super talented, successful, happy religious people making their dreams come true! but i know that for me, the feeling of being limited/restricted by religion was far outweighing the feeling of freedom. the feeling of outsourcing my intuition and happiness to an organization/institution was far outweighing the feeling of joy or peace i was supposed to be having. instead, i’ve spent the last several years dismantling and deconstructing every belief i have about the world, life and myself. all the beliefs that said i “should” do this or i “can’t” do that. all the beliefs that told me “this is how things are” and “this is how they aren’t.” and then observing all the patterns, habits, lifestyles and identities i had reinforcing those beliefs, creating what i refer to as a “box.” the “boxes” in my life are all the ways i’ve unknowingly held myself back. now, in their place, i do the work to program new, more empowered beliefs. beliefs that excite me, build me up and have me dreaming even bigger. and doing this has created some pretty cool transformations and opportunities in my life, like: – deeper relationships with myself, my family and friends – developing my intuition and learning how to trust my gut – speaking sharing my story on stages to hundreds of people – working on studio lots & acting with name actors – creating art about my personal experiences that has impacted thousands and inspired more art, photography, tattoos, etc. – traveling around the world while deepening my self-trust (and occasionally getting paid to do it) – 10xing my income – invites to red carpet premieres, screenings and VIP events – singing the National Anthem for the Lakers (and the Clippers!) – and that’s just scratching the surface 🙃 this is an ongoing process, and once you start to see progress in one set of limiting beliefs, sometimes others pop up. but once you realize you sometimes, a new life costs your current one. a new painting requires a new canvas. this is easier said than done & it can feel scary, so here are some tools i implement when it feels like everything is falling apart: – adjust your mental landscape having a clear, relaxed mental landscape is about your inputs AND outputs. mine always starts to get foggy when i’ve stopped reading, stopped journaling, stopped meditating & stopped listening to my go-to podcasts. the 5 people you spend the most time with hugely influence your mental landscape & this includes the people on your phone too. i am super mindful about whose content i consume & how much of it, because i want to fill my mental landscape with “expanders,” i.e. people who have the life i want & show me that it’s possible. the people you watch the most will start to influence the way you see the world, so make sure they’re good ones 🙃 – bring back SOME routine, even if it’s a simple one this is hard for us ADHD, multi-passionate, mani-gen souls who sometimes find ourselves pulled in so many different directions that we don’t know which way is up. but when i feel unsettled, i find it incredibly helpful to bring back a few small routines. these can be really simple, like washing your face nightly or going for a walk every day. doing some simple things consistently really helps me find normalcy when everything feels like it’s falling apart. – let TF go it would be cool if things always went the way we want them to & nothing ever inconvenienced us 😇 but that’s just not life haha. instead, we can focus on letting go of the need to control. letting go of our expectations of ourselves & other people. letting go of the past & the patterns we’ve repeated before. letting go of the outcomes we’ve become attached to. letting go of our fears. just letting tf GO. because controlling any of this was never our job. the twists & turns are PART OF the path, not diversions from the path. everything is feel “behind” or wonder if you can ever be great at anything when you do multiple things, you’re in the right place. in the few years since i’ve fully embraced my multi-passionate self, here are a couple things i’ve accomplished: – sang the National Anthem for the Lakers & Clippers – 10xed my income – worked on studio lots with name actors – produced directed my own projects – created an online community of ~700k across platforms – traveled internationally 2-3x per year while doing brand deals or getting paid to be there – turned people i looked up to into my peers friends and that’s only what i can fit in this caption. i don’t share to brag, but to show that it is 100% possible to create a fulfilling, success career doing multiple things. here’s a step-by-step process for how: 1 – discover your zone(s) of genius. where do you REALLY thrive, and what stories would you like to tell? these are likely to be bigger, overarching themes in your life, and things that have popped up repeatedly over the years. strengths you naturally have, or things you continue to be drawn to. 2 – discover the crossover of these things. where is the link? what story can you tell that combines these most significant parts of you? what is the through-line that connects the dots of these passions/interests? 3 – identify the blocks standing in your way. we are the product of our subconscious beliefs & our subconscious minds are not always kind, or right. identify which limiting beliefs you’ve reinforced with habits, patterns, identities & lifestyles, creating what i refer to as a “box.” 4 – swap these patterns/beliefs with more empowering ones. reinforce them with affirmations, subliminals, hypnosis, visualization exercises, EFT tapping, scripting/journaling & meditation. 5 – move like the version of you who already has what you seek. act as though everything is working out for you (because it is). plan for the wins, & be delusionally certain that your success is inevitable (because has to be hard. having a career in the arts is hard, relationships are hard, going to school is hard, losing weight is hard, traveling is hard, making money is hard, starting a business is hard, going to school is hard, we have to grind & work hard to make our dreams come true and on and on.. don’t get me wrong. i’m not perfect & am currently working through a “why is this so hard?” moment myself haha, but a couple years ago i learned that the reality we experience is just the result of the reality we create believe in. so if i condition myself to believe that everything in my life has to be hard & difficult to achieve, then it will be. on the flip side, what happens if you decide that everything is easy? and not just saying it in your head, but like really, truly believing it in your core? then it becomes easier 🤷🏼♀️ the moment i decided it was easy for me to attract opportunities & the things on my vision board is the moment everything got easier lol. that’s when i started making a lot more money by doing very little work & getting phone calls & bookings and opportunities handed to me straight off my vision board. i know this is easier said than done 😇 it takes intentional work to reprogram our mindset around this stuff & get rid of the subconscious limiting beliefs that stop you from really believing you deserve it all. and even when you “level up” in your beliefs, you’ll likely run into new limiting beliefs at the new level (me currently). you also have to condition yourself to feel safe having success, because if your nervous system freaks out when good things happen to you, you’ll subconsciously sabotage it because you don’t feel worthy of it. lately when i’ve been feeling stressed or anxious about something, i’ll pause and say to myself “wow, why is ____ such an easy experience for me?” about it. conditioning myself like this is one of the ways i’ve been able to transform negative beliefs into more positive ones. what beliefs do you have about
