Kristin Bauer Instagram – @danbuettner has been studying what the longest healthiest living people on earth do, for decades.
5 isolated places, that never knew each other, do the same things.
The @netflix show “Live to 100” is awfully fun.
Repost:
People in Blue Zones did eat meat, but only about five times per month traditionally speaking. In Okinawa, the longest lived population of the history of humankind, only 2% of their caloric intake consisted of meat until about the 1990s.

But given the fact that Americans eat about 220 pounds of meat a year I’ve decided to encourage eating a plant-based diet. No population in the history of the world has been meat-based and lived a long time. For more information check out the New York Times article in my bio.
