Laura Hamilton Instagram – I honestly can’t believe that today I ran the @londonmarathon. For someone who has never enjoyed long distance running this was a massive undertaking for me. . . . Back in September @wellchild asked me if I would run for them. I have been an ambassador for this amazing charity for over 14 years so I decided to take on the challenge and fundraise for them. . . . So many people have asked me throughout my training ‘what time are you going for?’… it was never about that for me. This was about completing a challenge and helping the charity. . . . I was running at a really good pace until mile 18 when I needed to stop for a wee. I then hit the wall at mile 20. The support from the crowd was like nothing I’d experienced before. People shouting my name and cheering me on most definitely helped me power on through. I managed a FaceTime call with Rocco and Tahlia and when they both told me how proud they were I struggled to hold back the tears. I also thought a lot about @jonnieirwintv and running in his honour. . . . If you ran the marathon today WELL DONE. You should be unbelievably proud of what you have achieved irrelevant of your finish time. I also want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of my friends who were there supporting me today, those who were supporting at home and to those who sent messages of encouragement. . . .
