Laverne Cox Instagram – 34 years ago in 1989, @therealconniegirl, an openly trans black woman got on a plane to Paris to walk for @manfredthierrymugler in his F/W 1989 runway show. She was a muse for Mr. Mugler for several more iconic seasons, iconic looks and legendary runway moments. I had the privilege of witnessing Connie’s return to the Mugler runway in Paris tonight (She modeled for Mugler’s H&M collab earlier this year. The runway show was in New York City). I also had the privilege of interviewing Connie for my podcast #TheLaverneCoxShow. The 2 part iconic interview dropped last week. I had no idea I would see Connie on the runway tonight.
