This powerful artwork by Archie Moore traces back his Kamilaroi, Bigambul, English and Scottish heritage 2,400 generations. And it’s won the top prize at the Venice Biennale, the oldest and one of the most prestigious art exhibitions in the world. It’s an incredible work that showcases the power of Indigenous art on the world stage. Well done, Archie. 📷 Andrea Rosetti

The Larapinta Trail is a breathtaking trek through Arrernte Country in Central Australia. Now more people can see its beauty thanks to an investment by our government in the Larapinta Trail Tourism Project. 100% Finke River Culture and Adventures is a First Nations owned and operated tourism organisation that is delivering the project. By working in partnership, we’re creating jobs for the community, building local tourism and celebrating Arrernte culture. It’s just one way that we’re building a better, safer future in Central Australia.

Our Government is committed to putting an end to gender-based violence. It is a national crisis, so we’re taking action – including financial support to help people leave violent relationships.

It was a special day for the Kaurna people amongst the leaves of the river red gum. The return of four items to Country doesn’t just acknowledge our history, it strengthens it for future generations. After German protestant missionaries took these items back to Germany almost 200 years ago, they’ve come home. Thank you to the German Government for working with the community to return these important items to Country.
It was humbling to be in the presence of those who gave so much for our country, as our community came together this morning to pay respect to all those who have served our nation in war, conflict and peacekeeping. It was a beautiful ANZAC Day commemoration with Kogarah RSL and the Member for Kogarah, Premier Chris Minns. Thank you to everyone who came out to remember the sacrifice of those who have served. Lest We Forget.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
Education is the key that unlocks a better future for our communities. At Centralian Senior College in Alice Springs, the staff and students are making progress. Attendance has increased by 37% through programs we’ve funded and the amazing work of the local community. It was clear to see when the Prime Minister and I visited today that by working with locals, we’re making a real difference and improving lives. Thanks to the team for showing us around the mechanics workshop! Students are getting to learn practical skills, it’s hands-on stuff that sets them up for an apprenticeship and a job.

Hurstville Oval is an iconic part of our community that has stood proud for 123 years. It’s part of our history, and we’re celebrating that history with the new Blackshaw Gould Community Pavilion. Named after local sporting legends Les Blackshaw and Nell Gould, this new pavilion will mean people of all ages have access to high-quality sporting facilities. The pavilion was funded by the Australian and NSW Governments, and the Georges River Council. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate its opening!

Anzac Day is a day for reflecting the service and sacrifice of Australians who have died in conflicts around the world. RSLs around our area are hosting Dawn Services and Regular Services on Thursday morning. Lest we forget.
