This legend – Deb Mailman – was a winner at the @aacta awards last night for her beautiful performance in the Australian film The New Boy. So proud and in awe of my friend in equal measure
Another birthday – with my dear friend Jamie – meanwhile I still don’t know where to look for a selfie! Thank you for all the lovely messages 🥳

We’re not crying, you’re crying 😠Marta Dusseldorp has a special connection with the Sydney Opera House. #CreativeTypesTV Creative Types with Virginia Trioli – Stream now on ABC iview or Tuesdays 9pm on ABC TV. #MartaDusseldorp #SydneyOperaHouse
When Marta Dusseldorp describes herself as a jobbing actor, you better believe her. The grind of the weekly television series is one of the toughest gigs apart from the eight-shows-a-week stage play — the key difference being there’s a new set of lines every day on a TV set. “I heard Jessica Marais once give an interview and she said, ‘I’ve spoken more scripted words this year than I have my own,'” recalls Dusseldorp. “And I thought, ‘Yeah, I know what you mean.’ Because the amount of lines I needed to learn for Janet King was unnatural to say the least.” After decades of success on the small screen and stage, including on beloved shows BlackJack and Jack Irish, Dusseldorp moved with her family to Tasmania and started Archipelago Productions with her husband, actor and director Ben Winspear, producing plays, films and her celebrated TV show, Bay of Fires.
