I’ve always loved spending time outside, and I’m so grateful for every beautiful place I’ve had a chance to visit. (This picture was taken in Banff National Park in Canada. All these years later, I still can’t get over the color of that lake!)
In honor of #EarthDay, what are some of your favorite outdoor spots? 🌍
Africa has the greatest proportion of female entrepreneurs in the world. But I hear the same story from so many of them: they can’t acquire the loans they need to start or grow their business.
Worldwide, there’s a $1.7 trillion gap between the credit women need and what they’re able to get. It’s time to change that.

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since The Moment of Lift was published.
I wrote this book to share the stories of the incredibly resilient women I’ve met through my work—women who have fought to tear down the barriers that stand in their paths. Some of the stories are heartbreaking, and some are supremely joyful. But every single one of them has taught me a fundamental truth that I’ve seen play out countless times: When you lift up women, you lift up humanity. This truth still guides my work today, and it’s why I’m more passionate than ever about building women’s power and influence—here in the U.S. and around the world.
Venture capital can be a major engine for economic growth and societal change. But the industry doesn’t reflect the diverse country we live in—women receive just 2 percent of VC funding, with Black women and Latina founders receiving only a fraction of that percentage.
When you think about it, it’s ironic that the people who are looking for disruptive ideas keep expecting it to come from the same source. That’s why my company, @pivotal_ventures, backs funds and founders who are solving tough problems, turning a profit, and proving that diversity seeds innovation.
Proud to be cheering on my alma matter @dukeuniversity in #MarchMadness. Good luck today @dukewbb! (I’m on the right in the Duke sweatshirt😊)
In an interview from earlier this spring, Brian Sozzi of @yahoofinance asked me about the core values that guide my work. My answer, which can be traced back to what my parents and teachers taught me as a kid, is that I believe we’re all here to lift up those around us. Ultimately, I want everyone—especially those who have been left behind or excluded—to have the resources and opportunities they need to live the life they want. Wishing a very happy 90th birthday to the fabulous @gloriasteinem!
Gloria, thank you for encouraging generations of women to share their stories, fight for justice, and link arms with others to create the future we all want to see.
I wish I could be there to celebrate you in New York, but know that I’m there raising a glass to you in spirit! 🥂

If we can fix this country’s broken caregiving system, then we can enable women to more fully step into their power—and, as a result, improve society as a whole. That’s just one of the many reasons why #carecantwait.
I’m so inspired by Psalms Joseph, who’s working hard every day to achieve her goal of becoming a doctor. And thanks to @youthforce.nola, she has a whole community standing behind her, making sure nothing gets in the way of her dreams. Here’s to the future Dr. PJ!

Dr. Fei-Fei Li is a leading computer scientist whose research laid the groundwork for modern artificial intelligence. I’m thrilled to share that from now until April 1, 2024, I’m giving away free digital copies of her incredible book, The Worlds I See.
This is the book on AI everyone needs to read right now, and I hope you enjoy Dr. Li’s story as much as I did. Download your free copy and view terms at the link in my bio.
“We have to ingrain this philosophy and this thinking around women, around people of color, that we’re important and we’re valued, and that we need to be in every sector of our industry to make it great.”
I couldn’t agree more, @tilanej.
At the link in my bio, watch the full video of my conversation with entertainment and media leaders @tilanej, @amyaniobi, and @carolinagroppa about the importance of getting more women—especially women of color—in positions of power across the industry.
