Meredith Eaton Instagram – Today, I honor my Grandmother or as I called her, Nana. I miss her every single day and while I do not get the benefit of her physical existence any more, her spirit will live on in me evermore. Today is her birthday. She was one of the founders of the United Cerebral Palsy Organization. She held steadfast to the belief that no life should be limited based on societal boundaries. She spent decades fighting for equality for those who were treated unethically. She spoke in Washington and fought for changed legislation measures that provided equal and open access. She fought for government grants, accessible housing, and educational and occupational opportunities for people with disabilities. *This photo is of my father Judge Leonard Eaton and my Grandmother at a UCP fundraiser. A side note: my father who had Cerebral Palsy accomplished many wonderful things in his life: one of which was to become a Governor Appointed Administrative Law Judge. He superseded all expectations of him. I miss them both. Today.. always. | Posted on 13/Aug/2020 04:52:07
