Meredith Eaton Instagram – They say that time heals all wounds. But for me, that hasn’t been the case. For me, the wound only gapes wider as the years march on. Leonard Mark Eaton. What a magnetic force he was. People instantly fell in love with my precious Dad. It was hard not to, he was so charming, and funny, handsome and considerate to all, and he was easily smarter than anyone else in the room. My dad had Cerebral Palsy and he did not have it easy, but he always navigated life with a smile on his sweet face despite all the chronic pain and health issues he endured. I would always marvel at his positive attitude. I still do. He spent a lot of his life advocating for the equal rights of the disabled community. He was a governor appointed New York State Worker’s Compensation Judge and he was a favorite in his department because he was fair and kind. He was my biggest fan, my confidant, my huge brown eyed teddy bear of a dad. His lashes were so long they would touch the glass on his glasses. He was the dad who made sure all of my friends had money in their pockets when we would leave my house to go out. I could go on and on. Seven years since I’ve heard his laugh, and I just miss him so much.
