It’s been 5 years since my brain tumour surgery, today is the anniversary. We called him Burt.
Thankful for the care I received, thankful for my GP & the A&E dept who knew something was seriously wrong but held my hand, thankful for the expert skill & kindness my NHS consultant Mr Peterson and the team at Charing Cross Hospital showed me during & after my operation 🙏
Happy Burt has gone.
I’m grateful & thankful. 5 years. Wow. In some respects it feels like yesterday, in others it’s like did this really happen to me? … stored away in my filing cabinet of life. Burt will always will be a part of me & my journey, even though he’s gone. My dark gift as a dear friend once explained.
Not everyone sadly has the same experience and my thoughts, love & best wishes go to all those affected by this cruel disease.
