Numa Perrier Instagram – TRIBECA CHANEL Through Her Lens Filmmaking program for women was one of the BEST things to happen in my career. At the time I had made several short films that will always mean the world to me —and I was showrunner star director producer on several Black&Sexy TV series all at once. I knew I wanted to make a feature film and continue carving a path of films and art and creating all sorts of worlds —exploring all sorts of relationships and ways of living. Then I got the invite (thank you to my agent at the time @puffdoddy!) to submit a script to @tribecafilmins and I pulled out a script that was quite literally collecting dust in a drawer. Those 15 or so pages was JEZEBEL. I sent it in and became part of the first group of women to experience this long weekend of mentorship script notes support advisement and lots of top tier @chanel.beauty products. 💋I remember feeling so valued throughout and so excited and determined to make my film. This was a pivotal moment for me to also value myself —accept myself —and take that next step further announcing myself as a filmmaker and artist with a point of view. I made JEZEBEL and my dreams have been coming true ever since. Just last year I premiered my 2nd feature THE PERFECT FIND at Tribeca and won the audience award for it. Pretty cool full circle for me and I encourage any of you filmmaking women out there reading to go to the Tribeca site and apply for this program.
