Olesya Rulin Instagram – I’m madly in love with a woman 🤍 this year. She happens to be me. See the thing is it took me way too long to realize I was a writer of my own story. As an immigrant from what was at the time communist Russia, I came to America and said yes to everything. I felt that I was behind that I needed to catch up in those early years of my childhood/adulthood. I got in a habit of not allowing myself time to sit in my own foundation of my heart and allows things to reveal themselves . Instead, I went running faster and faster. Yes, I got a lot of things accomplished ( hello massive HSM franchise and becoming a successful world famous actor at 19), but I also forgot to discover the serenity and peace that you can only find when you sit with yourself and choose your choices. Now looking back, I smile and want to give a hug to that young girl and young woman that thought she had to have all of the answers to be taken seriously. That thought that her voice needed to be smaller so she could squeeze into a room. The one that allowed new agents to tell me what I could, and could not accomplish in my career and believed them. This is why I love aging so much because if done right yes, you gain some wrinkles and some gray hair, but you also gain the beautiful knowledge of being on the path of self discovery.
