38? More like Thirty-Great! Oh you goiis! You can’t walk out on me when it’s mah dang birthday 🎂!! Anyway, while this year has been exciting and groundbreaking for me, 2022 has also been Twenty Twenty Boo Boo (okay that was 🗑, lol) in a some ways personally and professionally. And after diff plans fell apart for my birthday this year, I kind of gave up. What I didn’t realize is that the yoon aka universe was protecting my Black ass and kept me in town so I could be reunited with my #ForeverThirstyThursday, my #IrishBae Bono who surprised me at a @one event with a cute serenade and delish red velvet cake from @bcakeny. I was shook, verklempt, and turned on! What a trifecta for a heaux like me! Will def emergency fap to this memory when necess! 🤣🥴🤷🏾♀️
B – thanks for being my hero, friend, and an incredible mentor. I’m learning so much from you and you’re helping make me a better person. Aww! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for us and (RED)! Xx
When I was asked to interview my friend/mentor Bono at a private book party (hosted by @Bloombergdotorg) celebrating his NYT memoir “Surrender,” I thot to myself, “In my book club, we all getting half chubs,” hence me serving body-ody-ody in a Hershey’s chocolate bar 🍫 wrapping. Jokes aside, this was legit one of the best days of my life.
⠀
Like thirteen year old me would’ve geeked over the opportunity and also fluffed out her Civil Rights era banyang. Seriously, when I was younger I looked I could’ve been in what was originally the Little Rock Ten, but alas I missed it all because I overslept the night before, so Nine it was! ANYWAY! The point is sometimes you dream of and hope for and manifest certain things, but the universe has a way of surprising you with even more when you surrender to it.
⠀
To kiki with a person whose music and philanthropy has meant so much to my life was a dream come true. To hear the way he speaks of and writes about Ali, his wife of 40 years moved me to tears. The way his band mates – Edge, Adam, & Larry – have bettered him in ways that he’s long known and ways he’s still discovering is touching without being overly sentimental. And to watch him take his passions seriously in one breath and then also take the piss out of himself the next is a masterclass in authenticity. He’s a thoroughly self-possessed person, which is probably the most beautiful thing about him.
⠀
So thanks, B, for the pleasure of your friendship, the gift of your generosity, and welcoming me deeper into the @red family by having me join the Advisory Board (I know B said Creative Council, but it’s the Advisory Board). I can’t wait to get to work and help the debilitating presence HIV/AIDS still has in this world. You, (RED), and so much more continue to make this the ride of a lifetime. So I’mma buckle up and keep dressing like some dude’s future second wife that he’s about to meet. 😂😏🤷🏾♀️. #FBF

I CAN. FUCKING. DO. ANYTHING. I started running last March as a new hobby. Fell in love with it. Did some races. And last September, (RED) asked me to run this race for them. And I did it! Wow. Surprising yourself is the coolest thing! Cannot wait to do another marathon!
Running the @bostonmarathon with a chest cold is a specific kind of masochistic hell. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. Haha. But for real, the race was a surreal, incredible, once in a lifetime experience. No matter how much you prep, train, when it’s race day, you just have to meet the moment & see what you’re really made of. I saw ppl vomiting, limping, struggling; my parents lost count of how many people they saw pass out at or near the finish line. The Boston Marathon is a beast like no other and sick or not, I refused to give up.
1) Post race right after I go my medal, my dad took this photo. I was so happy, tired, and proud of myself. Baby is a marathoner!
2) On Saturday, @bankofamerica invited me and the rest of Team (RED) to a Red Sox game and I got to represent (RED) on the field during special recognition before the game started. Jumpsuit: @wearewildfang
3) Team @red – @dan_churchill, @jeffreymce, @bellezel & I – got to pose with the World Champion trophy. Neat!
4) My parents showed up looking fly AF in their matching Boston Marathon jackets that I got them. 🥰🥰
5) (RED) gang pre-race.
6) Me right before getting my marathon cherry popped.
7) Saw so many great signs thruout the race. This made me stop and laugh so hard.
8) Heartbreak Hill was no joke. Truly was hard. About 13 miles into the marathon, it felt like someone was pressing down/sitting on my chest, but I remained calm and stuck to my plan: running up HH, which was between miles 20 and 21 and lasted 1/2 mile, without stopping. And I did it!
9) This was towards the end. I was fighting for my life for the last 4 miles. I told myself to keep moving. Never stop. And remember my why: I’m doing this for (RED). It’s bigger than me. But also: this IS for me. To test myself mentally and physically.
10) My dad took the photo. He tidied up all the tables behind me because they were messy with food. #DadsOfInstagram #BostonMarathon

Am I about to smash a grown ass man while he’s wearing flared leather pants and ankie Bs aka ankle Bs? Yes, hunny! We’re taking it back to the 70s with “Schoolhouse Rock,” tube socks, and tenured c*ck! HALP!! But for real, what in the hell kind of sex-pocalypse is Leonard Albert THEE Kravitz training for?! Are aliens riding reverse cowgirl now? Does lululemon make mesh tank tops, so our nips can breathe in peace? Is this white man gonna be in the room holding Lenny’s feet the whole time we’re boning? I have so many Qs and one A (my ass) for you, Future Bae! Truly feel like this is how I’m going to die and honestly? I’m here for it. My affairs are not in order, but I’ll meet y’all at the crossroads! #MissMyUncleCharlesY’all #GetMePregnantSoICanGetInTheWill #IDontWantToWorkAnymore #LennyKravitz

Oooo, baby is an athlete! After 5 months of training, I’m about to run my very first marathon: the 128th @bostonmarathon presented by my homies @bankofamerica! As y’all know, I’m running for @red, which I’ve been working with since 2017 and I’m now an advisory board member.
We need these coins to help fund life saving medicine, programs, and sex education. And cuz of y’all we’ve already surpassed our goal of $10k and have raised $14,350!!! Omg! Thank you so much! Let’s see if we can get to $15k before the race on Monday! Click da link in da bio to donate!! I believe in y’all as much as you believe in me! I promise not to let you down and cross that finish line! #BostonMarathon #Boston128
Down to do doggystyle while reading Cillian Murphy articles about how the British Royal Family ain’t shit as Hozier plays in the background. Could this be more Irish? Yes! The ghost of James Joyce could write a sequel to “Ulysses” about me and Cill-Cill smashing called “U Isses Up In These Guts.” What is happening? Why am I writing this?! HALP! 😩🤣🫨🤕😳💦 #BonoSlipCillianMyNumber #ButAlsoSomeoneTakeMyPhoneAway

What a lovely surprise being volunteer buds with @bravoandy this morning! Truly, @cityharvestnyc & @feedingamerica are wonderful organizations. And I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering with them for the past year and change and it’s been magical. I’m gonna do some more stuff with them in June. Drop a 🥕 or 🍎 or 🍑 or any other produce in the comments and I’ll put a volunteer crew together! Xx #HeauxForCharity
🔉JUST IN: We’re deeply proud to honor NBA Hall of Famer @dwyanewade with the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award in recognition of his advocacy for the transgender community and for his work with the Wade Family Foundation.
Dwyane accepted the award live onstage during the closing session of the Make Good Famous Summit, followed by a conversation moderated by @dopequeenpheebs, where he announced the launch of @translatableproject, a digital platform that will provide educational tools for the family and friends of trans youth, and a community safe space for them to express themselves.
As Dwyane put it: “The world we live in today is far different from the world we grew up in, but it’s paramount that we open our eyes, hearts, and minds to see the bigger picture. And, for me and my family, that bigger picture all boils down to love.”
Our CEO @carolinagarciajayaram, founder @joedeitch and all of Team Elevate are honored to present this award to Dwyane. His tireless dedication to the trans community and racial justice has illuminated the path toward a more inclusive future.
Welcome to the Elevate family, Dwyane & Team Translatable!
