بفتخر إنّي بنتمي ل مركز سرطان الأطفال وبفتخر بتاريخ هالجمعية وبكل شي عملته للأطفال المصابين بمرض السرطان من سنة ال 2002 لهلأ. ومن بعد 22 سنة، ومع كل الصعوبات الاقتصادية يلّي واجهناها بلبنان وخاصةً بعد الإنفجار، هالجمعية بدل ما تسكر بوابها بقيت واقفة على إجريا وإذا شي زادت مسؤولياتها وعدد الأطفال يلّي عم تهتم فيهن.
متل ما بتعرفو، أنا خسرت إمّي بالسرطان ،وهيدي كانت أصعب تجربة بعيشها بحياتي.. لمّا منخسر حدا منحبّو عندنا خيارين: يا منستسلم، يا منقرّر إنّو نعطي معنى لحياتنا. ومسؤوليتنا نحنا يلي بقينا هون إنو نحمل الشعلة ونكمل مسيرة يلّي راحو وننشر الأمل والتوعية قد ما فينا.
شكرا لكل الناس يلي شاركونا بالحفل وحسسّونا إنو نحنا عايلة وحدة. شكرا لكل يلّي تبرّعوا و كل شخص ساعدنا انه نكون سند لهالعيل يلّي بحاجة لإلنا وساعد هالأطفال الأبطال يلّي عم يمرؤو بأصعب مرحلة بحياتن.

أعتقد أنّ ما يجعل عملنا مُرهقاً هو أنّنا نتاجر بعملة مختلفة – نتاجر بطاقتنا الخاصّة. إنّها مثل مفتاح يجب عليك تشغيله عندما تكون أمام الكاميرا للتوهّج والتألّق بشكل احترافي. أمّا الجانب السلبي والتحدي الحقيقي فيكمن في كيفيّة تحمّل الانهيار الذي يلي ذلك والذي يجعلني منهكة لدرجة أنّه من الصعب عليّ تحريك جسدي طوال أيّام. لطالما شعرتُ بالذنب حيال ذلك، ولم أستطع فهم سبب عدم قدرتي على أن أكون مثل الآخرين يتعافون بسرعة ويجيدون فعل كلّ شيء. ولكنّني تعلمت أنّ الأمر كلّه يتعلّق بإدارة توقّعاتي وفهم أنّه من الطبيعي أن أشعر بهذا كلّه.”هذا ما قالته لنا نجمة غلافنا لشهر مارس، رزان جمّال! زوري موقعنا وإكتشفي حوارنا معها!
“I guess what makes our jobs demanding is that we trade with a different currency – we trade with our own energy. It’s like a switch that you need to turn on when you are in front of a camera to create a combustion, to literally shine. The downside is that I always collapse afterwards and cannot move my body for days. I always felt so much shame around that aspect and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t be like others who seem to bounce back so quickly and are able to do it all. But I have learned that it is all about managing my expectations and understanding that it is normal I feel this way.” This is some of what our March cover star, Razane Jammal, told us!
