2024 POV: Becoming…..HER! I used to think it was a little egoic to talk about “know your worth” but then I remembered that it’s a full realization of belief in yourself the value you bring to those around your. Cause life just hits different when you know who you are. You make different choices when you don’t have to prove you’re worth. There’s a beautiful power in becoming the best version of yourself – while it’s always gonna feel like we’re in progress, constantly evolving and growing. In a world that often tries to define us, it’s crucial to stand tall in your authenticity and recognize your inherent value, how YOU are unique. You can’t put a price tag on that, it’s a vibe. But one thing that no one really wants to tell you, cause it takes the sexy out of it – is that when you level up, you gotta be prepared for those who are like crabs in a bucket, the ones who quietly compete with you, will treat you different all of a sudden. They might even try to make you feel like you don’t bring anything to table. And it might suck but there can’t be ego in friends/team. And that might validate a story that you have to do everything alone. Don’t listen to that voice, she’s loud but quiet her down. Because there’s a natural law of the universe, whenever one thing leaves that’s not on your vibe, it’s replaced by something that is. Life will life throw curveballs. We can’t control people or how they treat us…..every challenge is a stepping stone towards becoming HER – the empowered, resilient, and authentic version of yourself. I do my best to remember that everyday…somebody needs to hear that one now too. LoL Embrace your uniqueness, for it’s the best essence of who you are. You want to increase your income in 2024? Think about what area of your brand might need a little “refresh”….I like to say “polished, not perfect”. Because building your brand isn’t a vanity play, it’s a strategy for having a profitable business. When you want to level up, your brand strategy has to reflect that first. I’ve done thousands of shoots, working with some of the best photographers, in Hollywood been creative director on many client shoots to make sure they stay “on brand”. Hhere a few pro tips on how to make a brand shoot that balances aesthetics with authenticity. 1. Storytelling Through Shots: What is in your brand story – What archetype or character are you embodying (this is the future version of you) What energy are you putting out into the world? Each shot should tell a piece of your story. Viewers aren’t just seeing pictures; they’re experiencing your brand journey. 2. Pro Personality – Blend professionalism with your unique personality. (Even if you’re an introvert, you got it in there). Some do this naturally, others need consciously work at it. So throw in something that screams “you”. 3. Embody THAT PART of you. Authentically embodying the parts you see stepping into, might feel uncomfortable at first. Get out of your head visualize HER/HIM/THEY you see yourself becoming. Quiet the voice that says “this feels stupid, I look funny, who the f cares what I have to say”. 4. Mirror Musts – Practice in front of the mirror poses that make you feel, sexy, powerful, goofy. Put a mirror infrant of you on the shoot day. This is your moment to let yourself be seen, because there are people waiting for what you have, if you don’t show up, they won’t get your magic. 5. GoalGetting Girl Squad – if you can, do it with your your epic, empowered sister circle (even if it’s just one) who can check your hair, remind you to smile, keep your chin down, check your Spanx are tucked in just make the whole day feel like an adventure. You think it’s “Procrastination” but it’s just a “Parts-Problem” In the entrepreneurial world of business, usually by third-year entrepreneurs may start struggling with decision fatigue, which lead to potential delays or not the best choices. In psychology, there’s something called “Parts Work Therapy”. Everyonone has internal personas influencing decision-making. Each “part,” from the cautious ‘risk-averse’ one to the strategic ‘manager,’ plays a role in the entrepreneur’s internal work. Navigating decision fatigue requires acknowledging these inner conflicts collaboration among internal parts. Delegating decision-making authority becomes a strategic move, allowing different parts to contribute their unique perspectives without overwhelming yourself. Procrastination, often linked to decision fatigue, is seen as a manifestation of the ‘avoidance’ part aiming to protect from stress or failure. So it’s not really “procrastination” but rather a “Parts problem”. Mastering your “parts” has become a core tool in my transformational L.E.A.D method as it combines principles from character development I know well from acting while it aligns equally with entrepreneurial strategies. Routine and structured decision-making processes bring internal harmony, reflecting the integration advocated in Parts Work Therapy. why I hate stereotypes? Becuase I adamantly against anything that limits perspective. Breaking the mold, standing out, being heard —perceptions sometimes get stained by societal biases. ‘She’s strong, she must be a b*tch. She’s pretty, she must be dumb. She speaks her truth, she must be pretentious. I’ll never forget the time someone said, “you are an enigma, you look like ‘that’ but when you talk, you can go from higher consciousness to brand positioning, you’re like, smart”. BRO!!! LoL! And it’s both sides too, one woman said to me “you’re pretty, you’ve been an actress, you should just do modeling beauty brands becuase people won’t listen to you if you start your own business”. Sometimes it’s women who boast the loudest about “feminine empowerment” that make up stories about other women in their head. *hint, those are usually also the ones who cause rumors. Why am I even mentioning this? Because, every time I work with a woman there’s still a voice in the back of her head (I am no exception) that worries what others will think if she stands taller, speaks louder, shows up bigger. But here’s the deal, I don’t think this is a fear of what others think at all. I think a deeper layer is an exhaustion of having to feel like anyone needs to defend their position. All judgments reflect the limitations of those who cast them, not the strength, intelligence, or authenticity of the individual being judged. So a kind reminder that the lens others see us often is their distortion. In a world quick to label, ya it might feel harder to embrace the power of authenticity but rise above the noise. The judgments others cast are echoes of their own insecurities, revealing more about their limitations than any truth about you. So be unapologetically, undefendingly (not even a word) yourself. A few favorite things I’ve learned so far….. Live every day like it is an adventure. Take the risks others think to be crazy but feel the correct for you. Love with all the passion you have, even if it “fails”. You’ll never know your true self, she’s always evolving. You don’t have to fit into the stereotype someone has of you, that’s their perceptive limitation, not your own. A woman is most powerful when she can flow easily between her “masculine” and her “feminine” essence, it’s not one or the other. Being seen isn’t the same as being heard, stand for something that inspires. The moment you learn that you can become anything you want to be is the day you set a fire no one can diminish. Reinvention is a strength one of the greatest things you can do. Do it often. Everyone will have a different opinion of you, the only ones you should care about are the ones who would stand next to you, stand up for you stand for you. Empathy is the greatest superpower, the ability to see multiple points of view compassionately.
