So this happened tonight. Just a little 20 minute surgery on my wrist. I was having increasingly bad pain after accidentally banging it on the side of a game viewing vehicle when on safari for my birthday. 🫣 So I developed something called De Quervain tenosynovitis, & it just wasn’t going away. But the doctor tells me this should do the trick!
I opted to stay awake & just do a pain block. I just got back to Cape Town yesterday after a month in the US & head up to Pretoria on Wednesday for the @monsterjam_poker_tour with @pokerbetsa. The doctor assured me it wouldn’t affect my poker…I was somewhat disappointed as I hoped it might somehow make me better! 😜

This is huge!! The entire world & every single dog, past, present, & future owes every ounce of love & gratitude to Chris DeRose, Last Chance for Animals, Animal Liberation Wave, & every person in South Korea who voted to BAN their dog meat trade!!! So many of us post about banning the trade, but Chris has been actively there fighting it for years & years. He has so many things that will shape his legacy, but I think this is definitely at the top of a very long list for this incredible human.
Chris was such an incredible mentor to me when I was living in LA & running @AnimalAvengers. He didn’t even know what an impact he was having on me-& I know so many people who feel the same way. He is an inspiration to everyone who meets him & has already left such an imprint on this planet that is completely unparalleled. And I know he’s not finished. Chris is a true super hero & proves that no cape is needed.
Thank you to everyone who made this a reality from the bottom of my heart!! 🙏🏼✨🙏🏼 All sentient beings have a right to live a long life full of love & compassion. Now all of the doggies in South Korea have a chance to do just that. Please let this be the start of other countries following suit.

We found this sweet little water Dikkop in our yard the other day. He couldn’t fly & a cat was stalking him. So we were able to bring him in & care for him until we could find the right expert to take him & give him everything he needs.
Yesterday we finally found @tweettweetrescue who is now giving him lots of food, meds, & warmth so that he can be released once he’s fully recovered. I know dogs & rhinos, but caring for birds is very new to me. I knew I wasn’t the fight person for the job, but I like to believe the Universe guided the Dikkop to us so that we could find that rescue for him & potentially others. And now I’m going to look into getting certified here so that I am better equipped to help other animals in need in the future. My mission on this planet is to help the animals…so every experience teaches & guides me so that I can hopefully get better & better at that.
