Shanola Hampton Instagram – Took some time away from social media, time away to focus on truly celebrating the success of @iqonicm! An AP honor roll student, who has had quite the senior year. He is the first boy of the family, now the first young man. Our family has worked hard to give him the armour he will need to always make it home. The scholarships, AP classes, strong family roots, may not be seen as he walks through life, but prayerfully his respect, his home training, his level head, even if he is being treated unjustly, will get him back home! The truth is, these lessons were taught to my father, who taught us, and we teach our children. Black people have always had an extra charge in raising our children. If you have an encounter with an officer, “just make it home.” These are facts. Facts that many seem to only now be finding out…As you can see we have several more children coming behind him. We will continue to raise them up, spreading love not hate, spreading joy not negativity, living in faith not fear. Blessings to all families and all graduates! Class of 2020, CONGRATULATIONS!!
