I haven’t posted for a while. My darling dad died at Christmas and I hadn’t – and still haven’t – learned how to talk about it or even how to accept condolences properly. But I was at the IFTAs at the weekend and it was my first one without him and lots of people talked to me about having met my dad and what a gorgeous man he was. And he really was. Such a dude. I was so proud of him and how he could talk to anyone. I remember him bending Brian Gleeson’s ear last IFTAS about how characterfully he ate an egg and onion sandwich in Bad Sisters. He was my biggest cheerleader but also the best at levelling it all and reminding you not to get ahead of yourself that none of it matters. He loved nothing more than tickling a grandchild or having a pint in the sun. And he really rocked a hat.
I miss him terribly.
Sending love to anyone who’s lost someone they love be recently or not so recently. Life is hard but it does go on.
So. Back to posting photos, thanking people for dresses and what not and plugging my wares. Think he’d be happy with that.

Still in shock. Was a really happy night. Then had a little cry because I have no idea actually just started crying when I got off stage. I love these girls and miss @evehewson and I’m so buzzed. Thank you @bafta and to all the team who couldn’t make it, we couldn’t have done it without you

After her life falls apart, soft-spoken actress Laura Franco finds her voice again when she meets a terrifying, yet weirdly charming, monster living in her closet.
Filmmaker Caroline Lindy invites us into the wondrous and dazzling world of her debut feature, a genre-defying monster mash that’s equal parts twisted and romantic with a dash of musical whimsy. Melissa Barrera shines as Laura, capturing her ascent from pie-eating post-surgery doldrums to empowered theater stardom in which the sinister sides of herself are finally allowed to bubble freely to the surface. In Tommy Dewey, she finds a perfect match for her fantastical, unexpected monster — charming, witty, and dangerously likable. A welcome re-steering of the rom-com into darker realms, Your Monster encourages us all to liberate our inner demons

This Thursday, join us at a SPECIAL time (noon PT/8pm GMT) for #WordByWord to help raise money to support writer and industry professionals during the strike.
Hosted by @ed_solomon, this week’s conversation will focus on writing for actors.
Actors and writing. Two of my favourite things. And Lucy Prebble. Another favourite will be there so that’s exciting. So if you want to have a good chat on Thursday then click the link in my bio to sign up and donate please
#WordByWord
@theblcklst
@wgaeast
@sagaftra
In the pic above I am being an actor not a writer
Queen @courteneycoxofficial
There’s a link in my bio so please join me and donate if you can. The strike is ongoing, needed and necessary and so is financial help and donations.
There’s plenty of people on here who will explain how and why the strikes are happening. Can I suggest you go to @vanderjames for a concise and simple to understand breakdown. But in a nutshell both @sagaftra and the @wgaeast are calling for better pay and job security, drawing attention to disparities in the film and television industry and the need for tightened regulations around the use of A1. Really not asking for much. Just fairness and, for most union members, a living wage. They want to protect an industry that is being driven by the greed of multi billion dollar corporations.
With dual strikes currently underway many actors can’t afford rent, utilities and health care so if you appreciate and love film and TV and want to support the creatives behind them then please go to the link in my bio and donate.
(If someone wants to explain to me why British and Irish unions aren’t also striking because surely we will all benefit in success then please do)
