Dear valued comedy fans,
We regret to inform you that, on Friday 17 May 2024, the Ministry of Communication has cancelled Sharul Channa’s work visa following multiple police reports on one of her videos back in 2018 that touched on a 3R issue (Religion, Royalty, Race).
This was extremely unexpected as we had applied for, and received all necessary permits and approvals a week before starting the ticket sales. It is only in the last 24 hours that these reports from some members of the public came in, referencing old content that has been on Comedy Central Asia, and online, for a few years now. We did our best to put in an appeal, but unfortunately, we’ve been informed that Sharul will not be able to perform this weekend.
While we are regrettably unable to stage Sharul Channa’s Just Joking! at the* PJ Live Arts, 18 May 9pm, we at Laugh Labs Entertainment are offering our valued audience members 2 options:
Option 1 : REFUND
You may request for a full refund of the show from Cloudjoi. The process will take approximately 2 weeks or earlier and the amount paid will be refunded back into your initial mode of payment.
Option 2 : NEW LAST-MINUTE GALA SHOW
As they say, the show must go on and you can come watch a different show, at the same time and venue, which now includes special local acts from Mad Sabah, Rizal van Geyzel, Shamaine Othman, Hindra Bose and other surprise appearances.
We at Laugh Labs Entertainment would like to convey our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused as we are doing the best we can to ameliorate this unfortunate situation while continuing to elevate the status of our comedy scene.
