Poor sweet Skadi had to have a rather large lump removed, and I fractured my foot in the process of trying to stop her from jumping – so we’re both a little bit sad. 🙃 It’s particularly hard when animals have to go through anything difficult like this because they’re confused about what’s happening to them and you can’t explain that it’s only temporary. She’s doing super well though and each day she seems a little more spritely. Peter has been carrying her in and out of the office so she can go pee because it’s painful for her to walk and she just sits down. 💔 The trickiest thing is stopping her from jumping onto things like the bed or the couch – because they are automatic impulses she has without an understanding of how it will be painful or potentially upset the wound. But I think she’s getting the hang of it and will often wait by a chair until we pick her up to place her on it.
