I struggled with preparing for this speech bc I felt extremely vulnerable about sharing a personal life experience I haven’t yet told. I initially wanted to take the spotlight off me and share a different story about traditional food ways but realized I needed to step outside my fears, to share my own story . Shout to my mother who is my best friend and biggest cheerleader. I can allows count on her to keep it real with me, and grounding me. She’s the strongest person I know. I owe my resilience and confidence to her. 🦋
