Itโs been one year since the release of Yaejiโs debut album, โWith A Hammer,โ a generous and frustrated exploration of creativity.
For our second cover, @kraejiyaeji sits down to reflect on the passing of time, the evolution of anger, and freedom. โanger…is constantly transmuting into something new. now that itโs been a year since the album came out into the world, since i started touring with it, seeing and feeling how others connect or relate to it, i feel a little closer to understanding how my anger has transmuted,โ she writes.

With A Hammer was the first demo i wrote that marked the beginning of this album. the birth of my anger.
i remember being fatigued from fake news and real life when i wrote this.
the drum sounds mimicked a comical hammer smash, like one of those plastic ones u get at an amusement park. boink!
my vocal delivery felt dry.. suppressed, effortless, maybe a little weak even ? but the lyrics were powerful. masculine.
and the contrast of these tensioning feelings is what defined my anger at the time.
