I’m so excited and honored to share that I have contributed to my dear friend and collaborator @taylorswift’s brilliant 11th album — a 31 song double album / anthology called The Tortured Poets Department. We started working on these songs over two years ago and it feels like they have kept us company and evolved in beautiful and unexpected ways through so much life lived during this process. It’s hard to believe Taylor and I have now recorded over 60 songs together (17 across this anthology!!) in the 4 years since we began working together on Folklore in 2020. I am forever grateful to Taylor for sharing her insane talents with and trusting me with her music. I believe these songs are some of the most lyrically acute, intricate, vulnerable and cathartic Taylor has ever written and I am continually astonished by her skills as a songwriter and performer. I also want to thank the incredible @jackantonoff for his open hearted and open door collaboration with me through all these many projects and all of my talented friends who continue to contribute generously to my work. I could never have made all this music without a village of friends supporting me — especially the engineering talents @heyjonlow @bellaicecream and @sharp_stick and as always my brother @brycedessner made many vital contributions and other friends like @900x @tingalayo @lanzprojects and @mooserob who have helped me so much over the years. Thank you to @serbangheneamixes for mixing these songs and @randymerrill_sterling for mastering. And all of these friends for their amazing contributions: @glennkotche @jt_bates_ @notfastbutslota @lcorchestra @robertamesmusic @jeremymurphymusic @spacemoth__ @beaunoise It’s not lost on me how lucky I am that this is my job and I feel so grateful to be a part of creating this vast, magically detailed and symbolic world of songs Taylor has crafted that we all get to inhabit and enjoy. Keep searching and you’ll find some new detail, layer or sliver of meaning with each listen.

Last night in Nashville I got to play my favorite song @taylorswift and I have written together, “would’ve could’ve should’ve”, at 1:30am in the middle of a giant rainstorm — while also getting to see the whole show (@phoebebridgers came out to play “nothing new” with Taylor which we all made together!) — which only ended at 2am due to rain delays. Not sure how I got so lucky to have these experiences on the greatest tour of all time, but I’m so thankful. It’s incredibly inspiring to see the dedication and work ethic Taylor, her band, her dancers and her incredible team and crew put into this show. It’s truly a mind blowing experience. #TStheErasTour

Huge Congratulations to my friend @taylorswift on the release of her version of Speak Now… I had the absolute pleasure and honor of producing three vault tracks on the Album with Taylor: Foolish One (Taylor’s Version), When Emma Falls In Love (Taylor’s Version), and Electric Touch (Feat. Fall Out Boy) (Taylor’s Version). I’m so grateful for every opportunity I’ve had to work with Taylor and I am constantly inspired by the example she is setting for all artists that you have the right to own your own work and chart your own path without compromise. Thanks as always to everyone who contributed to these recordings! @heyjonlow @bellaicecream @lanzprojects @900x @randymerrill_sterling @kaufyismynamo @james_krivchenia @tingalayo joeyjoeyrusso @patrickstump #SpeakNowTaylorsVersion

I’m so incredibly excited to share that @gracieabrams’ second album, The Secret of Us, is out today. I couldn’t be more proud of Gracie and this record and all the friends who contributed to it. I feel so grateful for every moment I’ve gotten to spend with Gracie as a friend and a collaborator over the past four years and three projects we have made. This album captures a profoundly authentic moment of creativity and expression in Gracie’s life. It’s brimming with confidence and raw emotion and while there are too many highlights to mention, I know many of you will find yourselves listening again and again to “us”, which we wrote with our dear mutual friend @taylorswift. It’s an earthquake of a song that felt like a synthesis of the entire album and is a testament to their growing friendship and the massive influence Taylor has had on Gracie’s writing over the years. They nearly burned Taylor’s apartment down writing this song and we had an insanely fun day and night recording it at Long Pond. Thanks also to @jackantonoff for adding his inimitable touch to this song. I was also so thrilled to collaborate with Gracie’s brilliant friend @audreyhobert who co-wrote on many of these songs — Audrey and Gracie bring something special out of each other that was such a joy to watch. Special thanks to my dear friends @boniver @900x @mooserob and @lanzprojects for contributing their magic and to @bellaicecream who has been at my side engineering all three projects for Gracie (and so many more) and who has become an indispensable presence at Long Pond. Thanks to @serbangheneamixes for his incredible mixes, @randymerrill_sterling for mastering and @androidbarr for drums and everyone else who contributed. We are so grateful. @heyjonlow @brycebordone @spacemoth__ @beaunoise @sharp_stick @olijacobs1 @bradbarr216 @kresnick

Cincinnati!! It’s hard to describe what it felt like to play “Ivy” from evermore last night with @taylorswift in the town I grew up in, where I learned to play music in the first place. Grateful as always to Taylor and all of you for listening. I’ll be back in Cincy for two nights with @thenational in September 15th and 16th when we throw our Homecoming Festival … @ntlhomecoming …. See you there?!
So the rumors were true🤪We made two albums at the same time — “Laugh Track”, the wilder cousin of Frankenstein — is out everywhere today digitally and you can pre-order the vinyl online. Thanks to @boniver @phoebebridgers and @rosannecash for joining us on this record which has some of my favorite songs we have ever made. We are also having an absolute blast on tour these days (we played 76 different songs on the last tour run!?) — so we decided to add a bunch more shows next year. The first to be announced are in Australia with our friends @fleetfoxes and @anniehamiltn in Feb/March next year. And we will see all of you who live in Europe and the UK very soon!! Thank you as always for listening!!

I’m so excited to be able to share that the second album @teddysphotos and I made together — “Autumn Variations” — is out today. We made a lot of this music at the same time that we were recording Subtract, and some of it more recently together in England and at Long Pond. I’m so grateful for Ed as a collaborator and a friend and couldn’t be more proud of this record. As usual, so many friends contributed their talents — in particular my brother @brycedessner who wrote and produced “Spring” with us. We @thenational are playing a sold out Madison Square Garden tonight in NYC and I am having major flashbacks to seeing Bob Dylan play “Something” here after George Harrison died and Radiohead on the Kid A tour in 2001. It’s hard to believe sometimes that this our job — very grateful as always. We are so honored and in slight disbelief that the absolutely legendary Patti Smith is joining us here. And finally, we have also released two new songs, Space Invader & Alphabet City to mark this occasion — which are some of my favorites we have made (among others yet to come… who’s coming to @ntlhomecoming by the way?). Thanks to @minatindle for these incredible videos she made and see you tonight!!

I’m excited to share that @queencitycoffee …an amazing coffee roastery based in Denver, CO….has created a “Long Pond” coffee — a fully washed coffee from the San Lucas Tolimán region of Guatemala. All proceeds benefit @hawthornevalley, a 900-acre non-profit biodynamic farm with community programs including an educational Farm Camp for kids a visiting student program, as well as a farm store and CSA program for local distribution of organic produce. The Long Pond label was designed by @chris_riddell. Pick up a bag on Queen’s City’s website and enjoy! Thank you!
